00:00To celebrate one year of YouTubing, I wrote a free 10 nanobanana prompt and use case guide for you to download in the description and pin comment
00:06So, in this video, I'm going to go through my 10 favorite use cases
00:09That way, you can understand a little bit about how it works instead of just reading it
00:12Uh, you'll get a better sense of, you know, the the logic behind it
00:15I'll even show you my prompt formula
00:17So, let's get right into it
00:19And I will say this works for the Google AI Studio version of Gemini as well as the Photoshop beta version
00:25Same exact thing
00:25First things first, this is the formula I use
00:27And to break it down simply is you need to talk about your base image or subject
00:32It's like what are we talking about? Are we talking about a house? Are we talking about a person? You got to tell Nano what you want to target
00:38Okay, it's very good about understanding that
00:40The next thing is the desired action and change
00:45What do you want it to do? Do you want to change the material? Do you want to change the pose? Do you want to change the time of day? Right? You need to specify the change, right? And that kind of goes handinhand with either the style, the mood, or the material hue
00:56So that could be like change the material this change the position of the sun, change anything, right? That's the power of nano
01:04And then lastly is the constraints
01:05This I like to say it's kind of like padding the prompt where you say do not change anything except this one thing
01:11Okay? So I'm going to show you an example right now
01:13So this right here, very simple
01:14We do it all the time because it's so difficult to get a PNG person to look good in a photo
01:21you specify the type of person you want
01:24So, we've got a casually dressed person sitting on the bench, right? So, that's the first part of our prompt
01:28And then we're basically saying ensure the scale is correct, right? That's the constraints
01:33And then we're talking about the mood
01:35So, we're talking about the natural shadows and consistent lighting
01:37So, as you can see, they completely blend in perfectly
01:39You know, there's no weird cropping issues blended in
01:43You know, you've got the shadows and everything
01:45It's it's incredible
01:47So again, one of the reasons why I've been on a on a nano binge lately because I do think this is like kind of mind-blowing
01:53So the next prompt I use all the time, which I literally use on a daily basis, is the color palette swap
01:58So this happens, you know, when the client is a little bit stuck
02:02Do I go with option A? Do I go with option B? Or even as a designer, right? Do I go with this material or that material? What's going to look better? And typically, you'd have to model something, you'd have to render it, and that can be very timeconuming
02:13So in just one sentence to say, "Hey, change the brick to light gray color and the window frames to a dark charcoal and it just does that in 10 seconds." Kind of hard to argue with
02:24So very, very impressive
02:26And you can use references
02:28So you can say, "Hey, this is the brick reference I want." And it'll know and apply that to the image
02:32Again, Nano Banana, this I mean, this is like the first step of how crazy things are going to get with with AI
02:39And I feel like on the arch vist side that's definitely very very scary
02:44I'm not I'm not going to argue that it isn't
02:46But I think it does simplify the arcvis side where you can workshop some ideas before committing to the next step
02:53Right? Cuz it's kind of a pain in the butt to UV everything
02:57Right? So next one
02:57Back in my day, back in my college days, right? The idea of taking CAD to make it look like a rendered elevation
03:03You would spend so much time on that
03:04And now you can do this in seconds
03:06You can be as specific as you want in terms of the materials or you can just let it roam, right? But it's important to stick to that formula
03:15You need to be specific um so it knows what to do
03:18Here we were actually going for a little bit of a vague kind of prompt just so I could show you the flexibility of it here
03:24So we're saying, can you add realistic materials and lighting and make it look like a photo? And the thing I want to point out is although we were vague, it did respect the actual hatch of the line drawing
03:36So look at the stones right here
03:37And then look at that
03:37Even the horizontal here and the batten board
03:40So like you don't need to spell out everything
03:44It actually did a pretty phenomenal job
03:45The only thing it did do was color
03:47I didn't say anything about color
03:49So it knew that this should be charcoal
03:51There should be like a baby blue
03:53I mean stylistically it's pretty nice
03:56Um so kudos to the banana there
03:59But it can do a lot with a little
03:59But I think in general you should have some sort of framework, right? So then we've got light fixtures
04:06This goes back to the whole idea of like, you know, you're a homeowner or you're working with a client and they just can't decide on an option
04:13You know, here's my reference photo
04:15Or you could just say, you know, the style here we said, you know, replace the ceiling pendants with a modern design
04:21You know, we were very, very vague
04:22Um, we just said modern design, but you could find something from a manufacturer and just use that
04:30Totally fine
04:30Uh, and as you can see, it does respect the placement of all these lights
04:35Very, very crazy
04:35Next one
04:38Again, the optioning bathrooms are like the bane of my existence
04:41Uh, when it comes to rendering, um, you basically spend all this time, you render out the first option, the client comes back, and then like, oh, can we do this? Can we do a version with this backsplash, another version with that? Can we change the vanity? And it just takes forever
04:55So again, I love this stuff for just like simplifying
04:59Okay, you want to go from blue blue um blue brick style to like green squares takes 10 seconds
05:05That's great
05:07You know, the problem with AI is like when you want to orbit the camera a little bit, it does start to lose a little bit of the structure and everything
05:15I do think that's where like Arc Viz will still, you know, be strong, of course
05:19So this is another huge one
05:23This personally I use like for my own planning
05:26Say you move to a new apartment
05:29You know, you just want to see what the thing looks like before you start buying furniture
05:32Um helps you visualize the space
05:34You know, the the layout, you know, what is like harmonious or not? You know, do you go with mid-century? Do you go with contemporary? Do you go with modern, traditional? Right? This is easy way to just figure it out because again old fashioned way you either have to like do a mood board and like Pinterest or you just have to go through a bunch of magazines or you just have to 3D model and render very time consuming
05:54So again use this stuff to like save you time
06:01You know we don't need to like kill ourselves with everything right like life is difficult enough like if this is what the project calls for give it a shot
06:09You know, this is another huge one
06:11And the theme you'll see behind a lot of these prompts is just like the optioning, right? Because maybe because I'm just an architect and this is like what I deal with on a daily basis
06:21But it's just like it feels like the same stuff now that I'm thinking about it
06:24It's like c can you swap this with that? Um whether it's exterior, interior, but here you could see it it does handle everything beautifully in terms of like the material swap between this sofa and that sofa
06:37But here you can see in the prompt in this living room image, right? So we're giving it the subject, replace the sofa with a contemporary leather sectional in warm brown, keeping perspective and shadows accurate
06:46So again, that's all that constraint padding
06:49You can get away without it, but I do like to put it in there cuz sometimes it will move the camera around
06:56This it's just kind of like really drilling it home like, hey, I need you to focus on this
07:01I want you to do this
07:02Like just focus on this one thing
07:05Right
07:05The next one, which is kind of fun, um, if you ever have something like super, if you ever have something that you want to add detail to, so like we had this like plain boring, you know, window here with like this pixelated sky
07:19Uh, we actually just added like rain streaks on it and it helped make it look a little bit more realistic
07:26It still has that pixelized look in the background
07:27I'd probably go back and prompt that as well and see if it could fix it
07:32But I do love this idea that you could just like focus on a small section
07:36This is actually done in the uh the Photoshop beta plugin of Nano Banana
07:41We just selected this glass and we say like, "Hey, add rain streaks there." So that was cool, too
07:44You could probably get away with, you know, the whole image and just say add rain streaks on the glass
07:50But again, I'd rather just select what I need
07:52That way the resolution is just contained to that selection rather than the whole image because again, this stuff can be low res, can get stretched
08:00And just talking about low res
08:02You guys comment a lot that the nano banana stuff is low res
08:04I totally get that
08:07It's it's maxed out about like 1 megapixel, right? So, this is why I talk about upscalers
08:11If you don't know what an upscaler is, is it takes the resolution and it basically doubles it or quadruples it
08:16There are plenty of options
08:18You know, I've done a couple recent YouTube videos
08:20You can get plugins for it
08:22You can, you know, get stuff um online
08:24You can use something like Magnific, but I find it a little bit expensive
08:28Clarity is really good
08:30Um, but there's there's so many different options out there
08:32But the point is you need an upscaler to double the resolution so it doesn't look kind of pixelated, right? So it looks sharp
08:42So that's that's what you need
08:42If you're going to be using AI in any capacity, you do need to upscale
08:45Okay
08:481 megapixel is not good for 2025
08:48Maybe in like the early 2000s, but I guess like what's that photo of Bigfoot? Is that like less than a megapixel? But anyways, you get my point
08:57you do need an upscaler cuz we're usually dealing with like 2K, 4K, 6K images, right? Especially like renderings
09:044K is where we live at
09:07Um if you're draping a 1 megapixel over a 4K image, it's not going to look good, right? It's going to get that pixelated look
09:14So definitely add that in
09:16Then my next favorite one, this is when I'm workshopping different lighting positions for rendering
09:22I just say, "Hey, can we just move the sun from here to there? Or can we do cloudy? Can we do golden hour?" You know, I I do this all the time
09:31I think this one, whether it's like sun direction or like weather, is probably one I've been doing on a daily basis
09:39Um cuz the cool thing is once I dial this in, I can take the output image and then I can drop that in D5 render through the AI atmosphere match tool and like it'll just take the light settings
09:51Saves me a lot of time
09:53I kind of like do the pre-planning here before I even need to go to the renderer
09:56So again, whatever saves you time, implement that into your workflow, right? Then this one, this is more about the idea of using references
10:04I mean, I think it did a brilliant job just like dropping the art in here and like adding the light and everything, but you can use a reference image and that can be, you know, of a picture of a picture or of a sofa or a light or a speck
10:16It doesn't matter
10:19The point is, you know, we're basically targeting this photo
10:23So, hang this painting right on the wall above the fireplace
10:25We're giving it context in the living room render
10:27So, we're saying put it in here
10:29If you're not specifying where it goes, it gets a little confused
10:34Okay? So, just keep that in mind
10:36But anyways, I want to give you 10 useful use cases for Nano Banana
10:41Definitely be sure to download that free guide
10:43Again, it's free
10:43No reason not to
10:45And I've got some other examples that differ from this
10:47Anyways, if you have any ideas on future video ideas, let me know
10:51I'm always interested in doing a deep dive in a new subject or tool, so let me know
10:55And if you made it this far, please consider liking and subscribing to the channel
11:00Helps with the algo
11:00See you next time.
