00:50To find them, start on the Canva homepage and select templates, then video
00:54Today, I want to create an onboarding video for new employees
00:58So, I'll search for onboarding
01:03You can see there's a range of different designs to inspire you, but today I want to show you how easy it is to create a video from scratch
01:09Let's head back to your designs and select video
01:15At the top, you'll see some quick actions
01:17Canva tools that make creating video a breeze
01:20And below that, you'll see different video formats already perfectly sized for you
01:25Let's select landscape video, which will be great to onboard new employees
01:32Now I can bring in my footage and explore the video editor
01:34When working with footage, it's helpful to visualize your project using Canvas video timeline
01:40This black line and triangle is called the play head
01:43I'll drag it now to go back to the start of the video
01:47And here's a little tip for you
01:50Use the space bar on your keyboard to easily start and stop playing the footage
01:57Cropping the video is an easy way to make your subject front and center
01:59I'll just adjust the frame a little bit like this
02:03And once it looks right, I'll select done
02:08Now I'll trim the clip
02:08Shortening it will keep the focus of the audience
02:13From here, we can go to edit, then open adjust to fine-tune the look and feel of the video
02:19You can experiment with temperature, tint, brightness, and more
02:24These small tweaks make the video feel a bit more friendly
02:30>> At OpenHouse, ideas grow through collaboration and curiosity
02:32We're digital first, adaptive, and connected
02:37>> Finally, I'll head to audio tools and I'll select enhance audio
02:39[music] that instantly makes the sound sound sharper and more polished
02:47>> At OpenHouse, ideas grow through collaboration and curiosity with digital first, adaptive and connected
02:51And that's it
02:53A clean, wellbalanced video ready for captions
03:01Adding captions to videos means that everyone can understand and benefit from your communications
03:05They're also helpful for people who prefer to read along or maybe [music] they're watching in an environment where the audio can't be used
03:11Let me show you how to do them
03:14Just select the video you want to caption, then hit text over here
03:21Under captions, we'll tap generate
03:26[music] And just like that, you have captions for the whole video
03:29You can also edit the captions
03:35I want to change this
03:39So, I'll just type in what I want
03:39It's that easy
03:46You can also change the style of the captions, too
03:47I'll make a few small adjustments
03:53And if I drag captions a bit further down, you'll see the safe zone marker
03:58It's a handy guide helping any text or graphics to stay visible across different screen sizes and platforms
04:05[music] When it comes to captions, the most important thing is that they're easy to read
04:10So, let's select effects and then change the background
04:16Okay
04:16Now, I'll make a few more visual tweaks and put the captions in the [music] brand signature green
04:34With Canvas video captioning tool, adding captions is as easy as one click, making your content instantly more accessible, engaging, and professional
04:42It's never been simpler to connect with more people
04:44Now the captions are clear
04:48Let's add in a title so new employees know who's speaking
04:50The elements tab makes it easy to drop and drag in different shapes and graphics
04:55Let's add in a rounded rectangle and change the color to brand yellow
05:05Then we'll resize it and align it where I think it looks good
05:14Next, let's add the name and title and select enter
05:19Now I'll tweak this text too, changing the size and making it bold and uppercase
05:32To bring it to life, let's add in an animation
05:34This keeps the video dynamic and engaging
05:36You can hover over the different effects to preview them
05:39H, I think white works well
05:42Here's where we can drag the speed slider to make the animation faster
05:51Yeah, great
05:54Finally, I'll drag the name label to the point in the video where we want it to appear and then trim it
06:03Ideas grow through collaboration and curiosity with digital first, adaptive and connected
06:08>> There we go
06:08Clear captions, a neat name label, and smooth animation, all created in moments
06:20B-roll is extra video [music] footage that you add into your main video to make it more interesting and engaging
06:25Think of it as supporting [music] shots that help tell the whole story
06:27It breaks up long sections of talking
06:30It keeps the viewers's intention and it helps illustrate your message in a visual [music] way
06:35For example, if you're creating an onboarding video, B-roll could show clips of people collaborating, working at the desks, or even the office building itself
06:47Okay, let me introduce you to the basics
06:51Here's where you'll see the B-roll on the video timeline
06:56Now, I'll show you how easy it is to add it to your video
06:58We'll just open this element tab, type what we're looking for into the search bar, and then hit video
07:06Now we've got a range of office themed B-roll to choose from
07:11This one looks good
07:16The clips are layered on the timeline, giving you a clear structure and making your footage easier to work with
07:20We can trim B-roll here, just like we did with our own footage
07:28B-roll makes your videos look more polished and professional
07:29And with the help of AI, it's really easy to create
07:34Say your brand already has a signature graphic like iridescent coins that appear across your designs
07:38I'll show you how to take that static element and make it move, adding a bit of life and polish with Canva AI
07:44I'll start on Canva homepage and I'll select Canva AI here
07:50Then let's choose create a video clip
07:53Canvas AI powered video creation tool helps anyone produce polished videos quickly and easily
07:58No video experience needed
08:01This is where we'll type the prompt to guide camera
08:03It's good to be as descriptive as possible using visual words
08:10Now, let's set up the details using the drop downs below [music] the prompt
08:12For style, I'll select 3D render
08:15[music] And this will give the coins that smooth realistic finish
08:20For framing, I'll choose wide shot
08:23And [music] for lighting, I'll select soft lighting to keep the reflection subtle and natural
08:30Once everything's ready, I'll generate the video and wait briefly while it loads
08:46Okay
08:46Yeah, I'm pretty happy with this
08:49But remember, Canva AI is conversational, so you can always just keep chatting and ask for tweaks until you're really happy
08:54Let's download this animation and add it back into the onboarding video we started earlier
09:01I'll open up uploads, then drag our AI generated video onto the timeline
09:09Let's preview it and trim it slightly so it's the perfect length
09:19>> This will make a great closing animation for the video, one that feels on brand and really professional
09:25>> To end our video, let's add in a slide with the business's [music] name
09:27I'll just select the plus icon to add a new blank slide and change the background color to match our branding
09:39Then we'll trim it so it's short and sharp
09:41From the brand tab, I'll bring in our logo
09:49Resize it slightly and align it neatly in the center
09:52Let's also make sure the logo clip matches the [music] timing of the video on the timeline
09:59To make everything look smooth and professional, we can add in a transition between the clips
10:02Let's select add transition and choose dissolve
10:12Okay, now I can move the playhead to preview the transition
10:19Yeah, that's looking good
10:19I'll add the same dissolve transition between the clips at the end, too, to keep it all consistent
10:29To finish, I'll select the logo [music] and I'll add an animation
10:35Let's go with blur and reduce the speed slightly just for a smoother reveal
10:42Finally, I'll preview everything together
10:49At OpenHouse, ideas grow through collaboration and curiosity
10:51We're digital first, adaptive, and connected
10:56No matter where you're working from here, we think big, we stay open, and we bring great ideas to life together

11:54We can hit download and choose [music] from different file types

12:18Let me show you another way to share
