00:00Bitcoin is looking like it's on the verge of a breakout, and it's probably because it senses that the US government and the Republicans are starting to lose confidence among voters and the market
00:09In a plea of desperation, President Donald Trump said that he's going to give every single American a $5,000 check
00:15He claims that it's from all the tariff revenues that we've gained, but we're going to debunk that in the episode and tell you what it really is: money printing
00:22And what's even more scary, in the same video, he references the 1929 Great Depression
00:26At the same time, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin is backpedaling from his "I am the house" statement
00:33As he admitted in an Axios interview this weekend, I Can't control the bond market
00:37The US government cannot stop the bond sell-off, and they're beginning to tell Bitcoiners what we already knew all along: their only option is to print more money
00:46Rates are higher, stocks are nervous about the AI trade, and Bitcoin seems to be the most investable asset heading into the fourth quarter
00:53Stay with me
00:55By the end of the episode, you're going to understand why the only thing they can't print is going to be the most important thing that you can own
01:01This is not just about cooking with Bitcoin
01:03Let's go
01:06[music] Less than a month ago, Scott Bessant was as arrogant as ever
01:10He said that he had insider information, asymmetric information
01:14His intervention into the Japanese bond..
01:16The market had him feeling pretty good about himself and what he was capable of
01:19But the broader bond market has clapped back in a serious way
01:23And, uh, whenever people say, "Oh, well, the Treasury Secretary is taking a risk," it's, well, it's my dream
01:31I have asymmetric information, like I am the house now
01:35So, right, [laughter]
01:40So, when we intervene with the Japanese yen, I have pretty good insight into what the Bank of Japan is going to do, what Japanese policymakers are going to do
01:53Um, but if you want to bet against me, go ahead
02:01>> Bet against me if you want," was his posture
02:02I am the house
02:03I know what's going to happen
02:05I know what the next steps are going to be
02:06Fast forward to today, and we get a completely different..
02:10Last month, you told the markets, "I am the house now." They bet against you at their peril
02:15Do you regret saying, "I am the house now"? No, because look, the house doesn't win every hand
02:21The house plays the percentages
02:23And you know, I maybe hurt some fragile egos on Wall Street, but I have always had respect for the market, and I always tried to think about what the move would be after the move
02:38If you have an ego, you lose a lot of money
02:43But the market slapped back
02:45No, it didn't
02:48How did it slap back? Well, rates went up, but oil went up too
02:51I could say, okay, yes, we had the first full allocation since we expanded our treasury buybacks and rates..
02:55Collapse
02:59There’s nothing causal there
03:03It was coincident
03:04>> The Financial Times, probably your favorite paper, said Bessant fails to break fever in US bond market
03:08What did you learn from that? >> Uh, well, I learned that the Financial Times is anti-American, anti-business
03:14They, and you know, they have a fever
03:20They're constantly trying to create a problem for the US
03:21But let’s leave that disgraceful publication in London aside
03:29>> Subscribe to the channel if you already haven't
03:31We drop fire news like this seven days a week
03:32The US government’s reeling, they’re backpedaling, and we’re here to help you understand exactly why Bitcoin might be the most important asset that you can own
03:39Let's get back to it
03:40What we see here is a man who's defensive, somebody who's name-calling, somebody who's aggressive, and somebody who appears to be taken aback by the pushback on the actual question
03:47Scott is clearly displaying the characteristics of a person who is not in control of a situation
03:53It's the animal backed into a corner, hissing at anyone who approaches it
03:57Over and over again, we've seen him display this confidence about his 30-year track record in the markets and the success that he was able to achieve
04:04But now that he's on the other side, he's beginning to realize that there are some things he is not in control of, and honestly, things he inherited that he had nothing to do with
04:12Like $42 trillion in debt
04:14And so, as he continues to talk, the truth finally comes out
04:16I can't control the bond market
04:19What I can do is try to get people to slow down and think
04:23All right, that's more like it
04:24There's some humility
04:26I don't have control of this system
04:27All I can do is stop to get them to think
04:29But Scott, as somebody with four kids, I can tell you how many times I've tried to get my kids to stop and think, and it doesn't really matter
04:38They just do what they do
04:40And what is the bond market doing right now? Regardless of whether you want to get them to stop and think, they don't believe that the US is a place where they want to invest their money; they believe that the US is losing its dominant position
04:50Fiscally, socially, and even militarily
04:52And so, in order to invest with you, we are going to need a higher return
04:57This is why me and so many other people are bullish on Bitcoin
05:01The bond market is so important
05:03Every time the US government needs money, which it always needs because it spends more than it makes, it has to borrow money
05:09Someone has to lend it that money
05:10Lenders demand a return for their risk, and rising yields are the result of a process where they need more return for who they're lending to because they believe that it's more risky
05:20And right now, the US government is a pretty risky place to invest your money
05:23When people hear $42 trillion in debt, they somehow think that it's going to get paid back
05:26This isn't getting paid back
05:28The only thing you can do is exit the system
05:31And Mark Moss says that there are four exits, and he's thinking that the exit plan is determined around the 2029 to 2030 range, the same range that Donald Trump was talking about with his stimulus checks
05:35>> You know, there are four options
05:40Option number one is austerity
05:45We just spend less
05:47Let's cut spending, get back to a balanced budget
05:48And that's just never going to happen because politicians run on giving things away for free, so that's highly unlikely
05:52Option number two is we grow out of it
05:57Obviously, we're hoping for that one
05:58Option number three is we default
06:00Hey, we're not going to pay
06:01Sorry, you're out
06:03Furthermore, we pay with debased currency
06:05But the reality is, you're not choosing just one of those options
06:07It's a combination of all
06:09And so, you asked what happens in 2029, 2030
06:13Well, we raise the age of retirement, we raise the age of Social Security, and we pay less, right? So we default on the people who thought they would receive a certain amount at a specific age
06:23We default on them; now they have to wait longer, and they get less, for example
06:25So there's that
06:28We get some economic growth, some default, and a lot of debasement
06:30So, really, it's a combination of those factors
06:32I think the monetary reset that many people in the gold and Bitcoin spaces look toward is the death of the fiat monetary system
06:40Dollar these types of things, I think it's a long way off, and when I say a long way off, I mean talking—you know—multiple decades
06:46I think the death of the dollar is greatly exaggerated
06:49Again, it's a process that just continues to happen, but it's a combination of all four of those things that will happen, and you know, it will continue to happen and really come to a head in 2029 because there's going to have to be a decision made, and Congress is going to have to vote and act to say we're going to change the age of retirement, we're going to change the amount that we pay out
07:05Option one, austerity: spend less than you make, and things will correct over time
07:09Option two, grow your way out of it
07:11Option three, default
07:13Option four, Pay back your debt and debase dollars
07:15He thinks it's going to be a combination of all four
07:17And what this ends up looking like is a desperate plea from a sitting president in order to gain votes, but also to stimulate the market and try to grow your way out and inflate your way out of your debt problem by giving every single American a $5,000 check
07:30Our country is doing so well under Republican leadership that only I can make you this promise
07:38If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate, I'm going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America $5,000
07:52And Republicans can do it, and Democrats can't, because we're taking in massive amounts of money through tariffs and record-setting..
07:56Economic success
08:01But Democrat policies won't allow this to happen
08:05In fact, the opposite is going to take place
08:09They're going to raise your taxes and they will destroy our country and certainly ruin our economy
08:17It'll be a 1929 disaster if they get in
08:20So, if the Democrats win, you will have an economic depression much like 1929
08:30If the Republicans win, you will each have $5,000 in your pocket and experience economic success for our country like we have never seen before
08:41We've already seen how this experiment worked
08:46Remember when they gave a $1,200 stimulus check to every single person? What happened to the prices of real estate? What happened to the prices of goods and services? What happened to all of the People who maybe didn't want to get a job? Did they go back to the economy? Did they go back to work? No, they didn't
09:01They sat on the sidelines because a stimulus check was easier than working
09:04What happens now with a $5,000 check? What happens now when all of those people who decide that they don't want to work, with AI on the sidelines waiting to replace all their jobs? What happens to an already unaffordable market that becomes even more unaffordable? I'll show you exactly what's going to happen
09:19The top 1% will continue to get richer
09:21If you look at this chart, the top 1% owned about $30 trillion worth of assets in 2020, their net worth was around that much
09:29Well, fast forward to today, and that number is $60 trillion
09:33The top 1% are going to get richer, while the lower and middle classes are going to become more and more dependent on government subsidies
09:38The asset owners benefited, and if you took that $1,200 stimulus check and invested it into Bitcoin, it would be worth about $11,000 right now
09:45What would happen if you received a $5,000 check? The question is whether you own assets or not
09:50We want to encourage everyone who watches this show to become an asset owner, and that's why we have to work with Letin as a sponsor
09:57Letin allows you to keep your assets, your Bitcoin, your best performing asset—the asset that's going to absorb all of the printed dollars when the president prints a $5,000 check
10:07Look at this meme from this lady when she's pulling..
10:09This slice of pizza is a representation of inflation
10:12When you print more dollars into the system, that's why things get more expensive
10:16And this is why, when they print more dollars, you don't want to sell your Bitcoin
10:19You want to borrow against your Bitcoin
10:20Letting gives you the ability to do that
10:22You borrow against your Bitcoin stack without selling it
10:26As you know, the dollars that are being printed are going to be worth less
10:28There's a fixed supply of Bitcoin assets, and you don't want to sell them
10:32Work with Letin today to borrow against your Bitcoin stack and borrow up to 50% loan-to-value against your Bitcoin
10:37Get no capital gains taxes and no credit checks
10:39And another sponsor that we want to highlight is the..
10:43Bitcoin way
10:46They help you to think through what happens when we do get into a 1929 situation, when there could be a Great Depression
10:49You're going to want to be able to own your assets, knowing that your assets are safe outside of the banking system because you are your own bank
10:56You run a node, you maintain your own Bitcoin keys and your own privacy
11:00Get a coach at the Bitcoin Way, and they'll walk you through step by step as to what you should do and how Bitcoin will help you in a 1929 situation
11:05When we showed earlier in the week on the clip that Donald Trump says that we could grow our way out through inflation, simply put, what this actually means is that if they don't default on treasuries, they pay you back in devalued dollars
11:10Dollars
11:16This is the fiat scam
11:21Buy Bitcoin to rug them before they rug you
11:24The math underneath is the same
11:26And so, as we move forward, if we know that debasement is the plan that they're going to implement and that they want to enact, the question isn't whether you own anything
11:34I think we already covered that earlier in the episode
11:35Asset owners are the ones who are going to win in the long term
11:39It's what do you own and how much? And if the dollar is on the table, you have to understand why Bitcoin is fundamentally different from a bank account, why it's fundamentally different from a stock account
11:48This is a great clip from Simon Dixon
11:50He's been in Bitcoin since 2011
11:52And on Coin Stories with Natalie Brunell, he's asked to boil
11:56Why should you own Bitcoin in the event of a debasement from the US government? >> So, what does Bitcoin do? Uh, well, for me, it allows me to own my own money in self-custody
12:07It allows me to spend my money peer-to-peer
12:10So, no bank needed, I don't need a bank account
12:12I can own my Bitcoin in self-custody, no bank
12:14I can spend it peer-to-peer without the bank having to get permission from the government and a whole AML program and all that stuff
12:22So, you know, it's an innocent until proven guilty mechanism
12:26Like, they'd have to actually try and confiscate you, steal your key, take you to court in order to, like, get your Bitcoin
12:32They can't reverse the transaction
12:35And it gives me a monetary policy that is fixed, and that I can..
12:38The plan into the future because I know it's not going to change
12:42Um, those are the three things that make me, um, that I identified in the beginning, in the early days of Bitcoin, and I still to this day believe are properties of Bitcoin
12:51As long as those three remain, then I still think that Bitcoin is one of the most important things that someone can accumulate over the long term in order to beat the game, defeat the game in a low time preference strategy, you know
13:06Um >> it's getting harder and harder
13:08The massive returns were earlier, you know, but I still believe it performs that function incredibly well
13:16>> Bitcoin is an asset that can't be debased because it is a fixed supply asset
13:19It's also one that you can have true
13:21Ownership and control over, and it's the one that's going to be the most difficult for the government authorities to confiscate
13:25Donald Trump talks about 1929, but people don't know what happened in 1934, when the Federal Gold Reserve Act was passed and they began seizing people's gold assets that were held in banks, putting on massive fines for people who didn't turn in their gold, and even arresting people who did try to withhold their gold from the US government
13:43If that scenario did play out, Bitcoin is one of those assets that will benefit you in multiple ways
13:45This isn't financial advice
13:48Do your own research
13:51But if you're not thinking long-term, as I've been talking about in this entire episode, and You're thinking short term
13:56One of the reasons that you should consider Bitcoin right now is that it's October
13:59Q4 is Bitcoin's most positive quarter throughout the year, and there are several reasons
14:06One key reason is that investors, hedge funds, private equity investors, and money managers, if they're underperforming the S&P 500 right now, well, they're not just going to throw up their hands and say, "Oh, well, it's another year where the S&P 500 beat us." They're going to want to take some risk
14:21So, they go a little further out on the risk curve
14:23They look for some alpha
14:25And historically, Bitcoin has been that alpha in Q4
14:30That's why Bitcoin typically gets a bid
14:32The groundwork has been laid for..
14:34Years and years of educating institutional investors on the benefits of Bitcoin
14:37The other thing that they do as well, if they've been ahead of the curve, is they start thinking about what trades they need to have locked in towards the beginning of the year after midterms
14:46And that's why the alpha right now is in Bitcoin
14:48But if you don't believe me, listen to a guy who's a little smarter than me, like Jordy Visser, in his conversation with Anthony Pompiano
14:55>> I think there's a period here where the asset managers are looking to invest
14:59I think most of what's driving crypto right now is a combination of new players coming in
15:04This is what a bull market is about
15:07And you're right, FOMO is going to start to kick in very, Very soon
15:10I said before, when Bitcoin got above $82,000, that was the confirmation of the bull trend
15:14I think we're in that
15:15The fundamental side is getting stronger and stronger by the day
15:18I think we're at a point where this stuff is about to kind of take off, particularly with what happened today with the unemployment rate being lower than expected
15:28If you take everything that happened this week, from the rate picture, and you look at it, you're like, David Zervos, brought into the Fed or the Treasury—he's a very creative guy
15:40He's being brought in to help get long-term rates lower
15:42They did another buyback, another Treasury yield curve operation
15:50Twitch, whatever you want to call it in terms of the twisting of the back end versus the front end, we got a lower-than-expected PCE core
15:55Now we have an unemployment number that came in weaker than expected, with hourly earnings also weaker than expected
16:02So maybe rates settle here
16:04They don't have to go down, guys
16:06They just need to not be a story where every day they go up
16:10And I think we could be staring at a position coming out of the midterms where people are like, why were we waiting? Earnings are just growing rapidly, and we're entering earnings season in two weeks
16:17So, let's wrap up here
16:19Scott Besson says that I can't control the bond market
16:21Mark Moss believes that the only way out for the US government is to
16:24Try to grow their way out to default and debase by printing more dollars
16:28And that looks like it's going to come true with a $5,000 check from Donald Trump if the Republicans win the midterms
16:33The calendar says that we're heading into the stretch of a year where it looks like Bitcoin is going to have pretty positive returns, and institutional investors are beginning to come online in an effort to either save their returns planned for 2027 or beat the S&P 500, which is predicated on many of their bonuses in their second, third, and fourth homes and yachts
16:51So, yeah, that's why Bitcoin is probably going to get a bid
16:55If you don't believe me, well, continue to do your homework
16:56But that's multiple different voices from..
16:59Multiple different angles all leading to the same picture, the debasement trade in which Bitcoin is going to be a major beneficiary
17:05If the price is what brought you here, we're glad
