00:00So, if you missed it from my last video, I told Claude Opus 5.5 to make me this [music] cool samurai open world RPG game, and I made this in two prompts with Claude Opus 5.5
00:09And you guys told me to keep building it
00:11So, we're going to keep building this until we can have a publishable game, and it may take forever, who knows
00:16But, right now we have basic sword combos, a pretty nice open world just as I wanted
00:20And we also have basic enemies, which are wolves that kind of just live around the map
00:26They're not as common, I didn't make them frequent, but they they exist
00:27in today's video, I want to make like the game menu screen and kind of like the HUD maybe, the health bar, things like that
00:36Things that we literally need in this game
00:38And to do so, I will be using Cakesfield MCP in the Claude code platform to like give me reference images of a HUD [music] I want
00:44Okay, so I sent a prompt asking Cakesfield to give me reference HUDs for my Vagabond game in Unreal Engine
00:50If you guys don't know, Vagabond is the name of the game, it's based on the manga
00:53And I told it, "Give me examples of like a discrete health bar, a stamina bar, and like a item single hot bar so you can cycle through the weapons you currently have." I kind of want like there to be a weapon system so after each boss, you have a chance of getting a certain weapon
01:07So, yes, there will be some RNG in here
01:11But, as you level up, you can kind of choose your sword style, you know what I mean? And I want there to be three classes of swords
01:15Sorry, I'm rambling right now, but I want there to be three classes of swords
01:18One sword class is long range, which can literally shoot energy at a limited distance
01:22Then, the second class I want is heavy class, which are just massive swords
01:26And they obviously are slower, but they hit like tanks
01:30The final class is the speed class, which will be shorter regular size swords, kind of like the one you start out with, and basic combos, but very fast
01:37You can get a lot of hits out in a short amount of time, which might be, you know, useful
01:41And hopefully in this video, I can also work on the dodge system
01:45Okay, so here is what it generated
01:47Let's look at the first one
01:48I actually really like this style
01:48Oh, I actually really like this style
01:50Hold on
01:52It seems more like Dark Souls-y though and more like gothic, you know what I mean? Like like castles and stuff
01:56So, okay, let's look at the other ones first
01:58Okay, so here's the second one
02:00This one is This one is very clean
02:02It's a clean HUD
02:02You know what I mean? Simple hot bar, simple stamina right here
02:06And it does give more samurai vibes
02:07So, this one is way more simple, I feel like
02:10I don't see a lot of games with HUDs like this
02:11So, I'm going to This is definitely number one right now
02:15The last one is more like if I was making an Elden Ring type game
02:16Okay, this This one seems more like a mobile game
02:19Is that just me? That's like a 2D fighter
02:21So, I'm not I'm not really I don't really like it as the other one
02:24And here is the last one
02:24Okay, this has just all the hot bars in there
02:26Okay, I think I know which one I'm going to choose
02:29I think it's pretty obvious
02:29I I really [music] like this one
02:31I mean, this one is super simple and I kind of I think it goes well with my game because the game is just an open oasis
02:37Not not much of there
02:39And as you keep walking, you will run into your bosses
02:41You know what I mean? This is Yeah, I love this one
02:44Let's download this
02:44Thank you, Hicksfield
02:45Okay, so now let me tell Claude code to implement this HUD into the game
02:50All right, let's send this in and I put the reference image obviously inside the reference images folder and I just called it HUD
02:56We should have no problem getting it and making our bad boy
03:00All right, so I'll come back when this is done and hopefully it does a good job at implementing this because I'll be honest, only thing Claude lacks in compared to ChatGPT is the style, like stylistic things
03:09Maybe it wasn't trained as extensively in his visionary features, but we can all agree Claude is just better with logic
03:16But we can also all agree ChatGPT is better with conversational day-to-day like everyday stuff
03:22it seems like Claude code finished and it only took 44 minutes
03:26So, it implemented the HUD on my on my computer
03:28So, let's let's just test this out instead of spoiling ourselves
03:31And would you look at that? It's right there in the corner
03:34And it looks exactly as Hicksfield produced
03:37[music] So, I'm actually like really surprised
03:38Usually Claude would make some SVG version of it, but now it seems like they really were paying attention to detail here making our HUD
03:45I don't think it's tied to the stamina bar yet because when we We our combos, the stamina bar does not go down
03:51I want to see if the health bar works
03:53Oh, no, no, the stamina bar works
03:55It only works when we're sprinting though
03:56It doesn't register [music] swings as something the stamina has to take, which I might keep it like that
04:02What do you guys think? Should I make the swings take away or drain stamina or would that make the game too hard? But yeah, running takes up stamina, but I might keep the stamina for like doing rolls and stuff and dodging cuz that that would make it more interesting
04:13Try to get on this rock real quick
04:15Hold on
04:18All right, I can't get on the rock
04:18Holy moly
04:19Now everything I want to add is an attribute system
04:21So like as you go up in level, you can put attributes in your sword attack, your stamina, you know what I mean? To expand your stats and make your own build, like literally make your own build
04:31Let me know what else to add in the comments too
04:32This is our game that we're building for real
04:33Okay, so next I'm going to ask Higgsfield to create artwork specifically for the menu screen cuz that's something our game is lacking right now
04:41We don't have a menu screen, we don't have any menus, you know what I mean? With empty space on where our buttons will go
04:46And I wanted to use Seedance too for this
04:48Even though ChatGPT and like even though the GPT image generation is very good, I want to try out Seedance just to see if maybe produces anything a better quality just to have a comparison
04:58So yeah, let's send this in and let's decide which menu screen and vibe we will be getting
05:04Also in the menu screen, I do want to add obviously a settings bar where you can control the graphic level
05:09And before the menu screen, I might have like a little loading screen just so all the assets generate before the game starts so you're not like laggy or anything, you know what I mean? Yeah, I'll come back when Higgsfield is done creating these two images
05:19[music] All right, after like 20 minutes, it just finished making the art
05:24So let's check this out on Higgsfield and this one already looks amazing
05:28This is literally our game
05:30Same vibe, the same little thing up the hill that we walk to every play through
05:35So this one I'm I'm definitely I'm liking this
05:36[music] I'm saving this one
05:38And here just small variants
05:39I guess they kind of haze it out on the left
05:41Yeah, there's not much difference between like [music] this one, this one, this one
05:44Okay, no, there's difference right here
05:46Okay, this one you could probably see the menu screen better
05:49Wait, hold on
05:49The third one This one might be comp
05:51It depends on our buttons though
05:53This one is also cool, but it doesn't I don't think it fits our aesthetic as much
05:56It looks cool though, 100%
05:58And this one is Yeah, this one's a bit more detailed with the mountains
06:02I I don't want to larp though and like, you know what I mean? I don't think this mountain's in the game
06:05So, the most honest portrayal for a menu screen would probably be this one
06:09I also kind of like how it's dark over here
06:13It gives us a real nice like It It just reminds me of like Shadow Fight 2
06:17If you guys ever played that, that's what it reminds me of
06:19And I kind of like this vibe right here
06:21And also, it'll make the buttons stand out a bit more
06:24But, I also like these
06:24Ah, I can't even choose
06:25Wait
06:25Okay, on second thought, I think I'm going to choose this one
06:28Only because I kind of like the blurred effect more than just the darked out effect
06:32It makes it seem a bit more quality with like this blurred effect right here
06:35So, let's download this one
06:37All right, so I'm about to send the prompt in, which is just telling Open 5.5 to select the reference image that I chose out to the game, and I told it to put like translucent buttons on the left side of the screen with white text
06:48Basically, just a start and settings button just for now
06:50I mean, I don't know what else to add, but those I want those buttons to be functional so you can start the game
06:56And I also told it to add a small loading screen before the menu the assets in game can load completely
06:59So, let's send this in
07:01This dude is cooking right now
07:03I I really like what it generated, but we can still switch it up and see which one we like
07:06I I like [music] this one though
07:08I'm going to go with this one
07:09And then, after this, I think I want to like try to animate a bit, you know what I mean? Maybe have the grass flowing as like a looped video
07:16And we could do that in Hicks will as well
07:18So, we'll see
07:18We'll We'll make sure it looks good first, and then we'll make it be animated
07:26Okay, the menu is now done
07:26I was watching it make it in front of me, and it looks very good
07:29Okay, so now let's enter the game
07:31All right, loading screen right here, perfect
07:32And here it is
07:34Okay, yeah, this definitely needs to be animated to give it that full effect, but I like I like how this looks
07:38The simple start and settings, sync off, frame rate unlimited, of course
07:43Yeah, graphics quality simple simple changes
07:48So, now let's press start and we should go into the game
07:49And here it is
07:49Yeah, I mean, it works really good
07:52The only thing is we have to animate that screen and make sure all the assets load before we go into the main game so it doesn't lag on startup
08:00All right, so here's the prompt
08:02I'm just telling Higgsfield MCP to animate the menu screen that we already have into a small loop so it looks alive
08:08And also to add a dedicated loading screen when we press the start button so all the assets could load before, you know, we hop into the game
08:16He added a loading screen before the menu screen, so that's good, but I want one also before the main game
08:19So, let's send this in and let's let Higgsfield cook so our game will look more AAA quality like, you know what I mean? And yeah, after this, I'm pretty sure we can just start going into like boss designs and stuff like that
08:31So, prepare for the next part
08:33So, I think that's how we'll finish off this video
08:35That's going to be pretty fire
08:36Okay, while it's generating, I noticed that Higgsfield is using C Dance 2.0 to generate a render in 1080p, and it's going to download it straight into my project files
08:44So, now I kind of understand why you guys were telling me to use Higgsfield's MCP
08:47We all know that Claude isn't the best with RT things, so having the Higgsfield MCP inside of here while I'm working on Unreal Engine might be a lethal combo just in general for any game developer
08:59So, yeah, I'm just going to let it finish and wrap it up, and then hopefully we'll have something that looks pretty smooth
09:06All right, it's now finished with the animated sequence
09:07And so, Higgsfield pretty much took that photo and animated it, and it'll pretty much loop inside the menu
09:14So, here's the video it made right here
09:15So, let's click on it
09:15It makes everything move
09:18Literally perfect as I intended
09:18And it used C Dance 2 for this, so we already know [music] the quality is pretty good
09:23And this is the second one, which I like a little bit more
09:25It has a sun glowing and everything, you know what I mean? So, let's go in here and let's click play and see the menu screens
09:30Let's see how this looks
09:32That looks good
09:32Okay, so this is the the one, and then I think it starts looping in the one where like the sun starts extravagantly moving and stuff
09:41But just this little movement makes it much way better, you know what I mean? This This makes it so much better
09:46All right, let's click start to play
09:47Let's see
09:47Okay, boom
09:47I had a second loading screen as I act
09:49So now, when you load into game, it's not laggy
09:53It's just straight away everything's loaded
09:54And I think honestly, this concludes the video
09:55If you want to use Hexfield, check it out in the link in the description
09:59It's awesome, and they've been long-time sponsored on the channel, so seeing them evolve makes me happy
10:04This is awesome
10:04Anyways, comment what you think I should do to the game, and what I should add
10:08This next episode, we will be dealing with 3D assets, and possibly boss battles, and all that good stuff
10:14So let me know what you think
10:15Anyways, I'll see you guys in the next one.
