00:03[Music] Hey guys, this is Gary, and welcome back to Get Going Fast Place, where we're getting into this excellent hobby of AI in a quick and efficient manner, in a way that you might actually learn something
00:15Can you imagine that? Yo
00:17So, today we're looking at something that is very exciting
00:22We're going to be exploring the Gemini CLI
00:23That stands for Command Line Interface
00:27And this is exciting stuff because this is Google's basically a shot at getting us into automated computer systems, AI systems on our computer, having it create code for us on our computer, and automating processes without us even having to touch it
00:49Okay
00:52And this is kind of like the whole Star Trek thing, like the computer
00:57Do this, blah blah blah blah blah blah, right? And the computer says, uh, you know, complying and doing this and da da da da
01:00So, um, very cool stuff
01:03It's Google, so of course it's high quality
01:06Um, and I'm going to tell you a little secret about this
01:12I think that the next, uh, war here in the business is going to be over, uh, which process, which company is going to be actually creating that little Star Trek, uh, computer system for you because, essentially, we're in the future
01:27We're going to be, uh, building in voice commands to this, and it's going to just be doing everything
01:31Right now, we're command line typing stuff in
01:33Um, but it's incredible, the things it's going to do
01:37It's creating code for us, and it's going to be able to organize our folders for us
01:41It's giving us, um, it's all doing it on our computer
01:45So you can watch the files be created, deleted, and changed
01:51Incredible app, and it's free
01:58Okay, and not only is it free, they give you a copious amount, which means a large number of free interactions with this thing just for having a Google account
02:02Okay
02:06Now, um, I'm not typically into this kind of stuff yet
02:10You know, we've been focusing on image generations and video generations
02:15Guys, this is big time
02:21This is a big-boy application, and this is the future, and I'm very excited to show you how to install this today and how to use it
02:24Okay
02:28So, before we do that, though, thank you for liking the channel, subscribing, and sharing it with others
02:32Sharing the video with your friends because AI is a lot better with friends, okay? So, people say, "Hey, you want to go out, get some beers, meet some women?" You're like, "Yo, we could do that
02:42That's great, but we can also work at home with AI
02:45Have you heard of Gemini CLI?" I'm telling you, the guys are going to be into that
02:50So, uh, thank you for doing that
02:52I appreciate it
02:55All right, we're going to move on here with getting into Gemini CLI
02:59We're going to actually use it to build a Discord bot, and we're not even going to touch the code
03:03It's going to do it all for us
03:04I'm about to do some things online, but it's going to handle it for us
03:09It's going to be awesome
03:10It's going to be excellent
03:11So, I guess let's get to it
03:12The excellence
03:15Yo
03:17[Music] All right
03:20So, as usual, we are going to be popping over to our browser, and we're going to be looking for the instructions on how to install this thing
03:28And so, we'll go through the installation of this
03:31It's not very difficult
03:32There is some technical stuff that we'll have to go through, but it's pretty straightforward, and then we'll get to showing you how to use this, and we'll go ahead and make that Discord bot that we talked about
03:42So, what we do is we're going to pop over to our internet, and all we really need to do at the beginning is just type in Gemini CLI
03:51Of course, Google owns the internet, so you're going to find their stuff
03:56Here it is: Google Gemini CLI
03:58We're just going to click this, and we're going to go down here and, um, we're going to see the Quick Start
04:05Okay
04:12Now, there is some cool stuff going on with this that we can install locally, or we can just keep installing it one at a time
04:18If we don't actually want it on our computer, it will download it, install it, and then when you close it, it deletes everything
04:27So, every time you just reinstall it
04:31Okay
04:34Now, talking about installation, even if we're installing it locally, I want you to understand we're not downloading huge models
04:38Okay, so this is actually connecting directly to Google's Gemini, which is great
04:43That means… We're getting hundreds of billions of parameters that are able to run this thing on our computer
04:50So, when we talk about installing it locally, we don't really worry about our VRAM on this
04:57Okay, it's just more a matter of having it accessible, we can get at it, but we do need an internet connection, because it's going out to Gemini
05:10Now, imagine using ChatGPT, and we all love ChatGPT
05:14Okay, now try comparing ChatGPT to a smaller model that we run on our computer
05:20Of course, it's not even close—smaller models are about one-tenth the size of ChatGPT
05:27So, this is going to be like when we connect to Gemini over here
05:28Gemini is huge
05:30Okay, now, theoretically, we could get other..
05:32Models that, uh, use other apps to download and do this stuff
05:37But what Google is giving us is access to their massive large language model that has been fine-tuned, okay, to do this kind of stuff
05:48This is really a boon that they've given us
05:53This is really cool, uh, stuff
05:58But anyway, so we're going to have a couple of different options that we can just do as a one-shot, using certain commands
06:03Just get it downloaded, run it, give it a try, and then you're done
06:06Okay
06:09Um, and then we have that local install
06:12The benefit of the local install is that later on, we're actually going to create a, uh, like what I've done is I created a shortcut on my right-click context menu
06:25You know, when you right-click on the desktop, and then it gives you all those different menus
06:28Well, I have a thing that will actually connect us to Gemini
06:31And the reason that's going to be beautiful is because when we're using Gemini, you'll find that it opens up in whatever document or folder that you access it from
06:44So, if I'm in the Pictures folder, it's going to open Gemini in the Pictures
06:48If I create a folder called "My New App," it's going to do all the work in the My New App folder
06:52So, by installing it locally, I'm going to be able to easily access the files in the exact folders I want, using the exact files I want, and it's going to have the necessary permissions to work
06:59There in the folder
07:06So, very cool stuff
07:13But, um, okay, uh, that being said, this does rely on, um, what is called Node.js
07:22So, this is basically your JavaScript runtime
07:24Okay
07:26So, we're going to have to install that, make sure that it is working
07:28Okay
07:30Um, it's not a big deal
07:31It's an easy install
07:32I'll walk you through that
07:33Um, there are also command-line options you can do
07:38So, you can actually download this either as a file that we just click on and install like a Windows app, or there are command-line options we can do, and we'll walk you through that
07:47Now, all of this being said, over at getgoingfast.bro, Bro, I've already set this all up for you over there so that if you are a Farm member or you just want to buy the simple install, you can
07:59Click, you can go here, click here, and I have it all set up for you
08:04Okay, so same thing, you'll just download it to your folder, extract it, and it'll install it
08:08It's got a little, um, it's got a little menu that will ask you if you want to install it locally or if you want to just run it as a one-off, and it'll take care of all that for you
08:18Okay, so that's the absolute easiest, fastest way to do that
08:21If you want to do that, go over there, join as a member
08:25Uh, you can get it, then you can just skip to the end part of this tutorial that shows you how to use it
08:32But getting back to here, we're going to do a couple of things
08:33First, we need to make sure that, uh, Node.js is installed
08:38Now, you might have it installed, you might not have it installed
08:40We'll just go
08:43Ahead and install it anyway
08:47So, what we can do is just right-click on it, open it up in a new tab, and it will bring you over to this page
08:49Okay
08:51Now, it's going to have a couple of different options
08:53You'll notice up here it says download Node.js, and it says for Windows, but use Docker
09:00Now, I almost want to say don't use Docker
09:01Okay? I installed Docker the other day to try to run a program, and it messed up all my environmental variables
09:06There's really no need to use Docker unless you actually know what you're doing
09:13What I suggest is you can scroll down here
09:15There is this Chocolatey
09:16Okay, Chocolatey is basically a package manager for Windows
09:21Windows apps
09:25So, if you know what you're doing, you can use Choco to install Node.js
09:30It's just a little shortcut command line tool
09:33It works well when you're using batch files and all that, but I'm going to tell you, the vast majority of you guys don't need to worry about it
09:40Okay, what we're going to do instead is scroll down here to where it says Windows Installer
09:46Okay, that's the easiest thing we're going to do
09:48So, let's just click on that, and it's going to ask us where we want to save it
09:52Just put it in your Downloads folder, okay? Then we'll go ahead and run it, and it will look something like this
10:00All right, so real easy
10:02We'll just click Next
10:04Uh, now mine's already been installed, so..
10:06See, I have to change it, repair it, or whatever
10:11All you guys have to do is just click next on this stuff
10:12There's really nothing that you need to do
10:14There's nothing you need
10:15You just need to follow through
10:17Just next, next, next, next, and it will go ahead and install for you
10:21Okay
10:26Then, I don't even believe that you'll have to reinstall your system, uh, you won't even have to reboot Windows
10:31So, it just goes straight in there and then it works
10:32And then it's going to give us access to some different commands over here, like npx and npm
10:39Okay
10:43And this is how we're going to actually install this thing here
10:47Okay
10:51So, we're still going to create a folder to install it in
10:54Okay
10:57But we're going to, uh, it's, it's… It's just really easy
11:00It's not that difficult
11:01So, let's go ahead and take a look at how we do that
11:03All right, so let's open up our command line and navigate to where we're going to install this thing
11:10First, we'll do a local install, but then we'll look at the other method as well
11:13For now, let's create a folder dedicated to this, just in case
11:20When we do the local install, we want to save it somewhere accessible for quick automation
11:30So, I'm going to make a directory called "Gemini CLI." Okay? I type `mkdir`—which means make directory
11:39Now, if I type `cd`, which means change directory, and I type Gemini CLI
11:49It's going to put us in that directory
11:50And I can type "dir," which shows me, which means directory, and it's going to show me it's empty
11:54Okay, cool
11:58Now, popping back over to our browser, let's just go ahead and run the one-time script
12:02So, if you just want to try this, you don't want to install the files onto your folder, which really aren't that big
12:08But, um, because remember, we're hitting the large language model out there, not on our computer
12:11But this is it
12:14Let's grab this command
12:17And this command, what it does is it downloads it, runs it, and then when you're done with it, it deletes it
12:21Okay
12:25So, going back to our command line, we'll just paste that in
12:27There
12:29So, npx
12:30Okay
12:32Oops
12:33Oh, hell
12:34Hold on
12:36So, npx is the Node.js package runner that we're using
12:42I'm not actually sure what the px stands for, but this is why we need to install Node.js
12:47Just like when we install anything else, we're running npm or yarn or whatever
12:51This is the name of the app we're calling
12:52We're saying npx, and we're saying this is the app
12:54So, obviously, this is some Node.js thing that says go to a website, run an app
12:57So, we're going to hit enter
13:00Now, watch what it's doing
13:03You can see it's thinking there, and it says, "You need to install the following packages." Okay, to proceed, we're going to hit yes because it's going to install it, but then it's going to delete it when we're done
13:07It's basically going to cache
13:11It
13:14Okay, so a cache is a place on your computer where stuff is kind of stored temporarily, and then when you're done using it, it throws it out
13:22Okay, so you're going to watch, going to download this, get it going, and then it's going to pop up
13:29So, I'll go ahead and pause this just for a second
13:32Oh, well, I didn't even need to pause it
13:33Look at that
13:34So, the app is up
13:37We're here
13:39Okay
13:41Now, notice we're in the folder that we created and ran it in
13:44Now, whatever folder you're in, if you run this, you're going to be in that folder
13:48If we had just been on the D drive, it would be D
13:50Okay
13:52Whatever
13:53So, now we can ask it something like this: we can say, "Create a website that asks for your name and then..." And then it greets you when it's entered
14:16So, something really basic
14:17Okay
14:19Let's use HTML
14:21All right
14:22So, we'll just go ahead and do that
14:24Now, notice it's going to—what it's doing is hitting the LLM just like if we talked to ChatGPT or whatever
14:29It's hitting that out there
14:35It's grabbing the output, and it says, "I will create an index.html for your website." It will locate a text box for the username
14:40It tells you what it wants to do, but now it asks for permission
14:44Now, this is important because when we're running these things, obviously, you don't want to get Skynet here
14:47You don't want to give the AI complete access to your computer
14:52So, it's always asking you for permissions
14:54Okay, so, uh, we..
14:59It could allow one, allow all
15:04I'm going to say "always," okay, because I'm not doing anything really sensitive, but if you want to just keep it on, you can do that one thing at a time
15:09So, look, it says I've created the index.html file
15:12You can open your web browser to use the greeting website
15:16So, let's go over to our file explorer here
15:26Hold on, and you'll see that it created the file
15:31That file was not there before
15:33In fact, we could watch—here, let's do this real quick—you can actually watch the file get created
15:40Let's go back over to our command, to our app, and let's say, um, oh, hold on, dang it
15:47Let's ask this thing—let's ask it to create a documentation file
15:58Create a documentation file
16:03With the name of this website and the timestamp of its creation, um, make it a text file
16:10Okay
16:18Now, we're going to pop over to the Explorer, and we're going to sit here and watch
16:25So, I'm going to hit Enter over here, and you'll see that the text file actually is created
16:29So, there it goes
16:32And look, it went ahead and created the text file
16:34If we open it up, it just says 'Creation Date' on there
16:40So, let me show you what that looks like
16:43There it is—'Creation Date.' Okay
16:46But the point there was that we saw it done in real time
16:49So, now let's go ahead and open that up
16:54We'll just click the index.html
16:57That'll bring us back to our browser
17:00And there's our app: greet
17:04Enter your name, Gary
17:05Hello, Gary
17:07So, there it is
17:08It created it for us
17:09Okay, and it created it on our page
17:11Okay
17:14Very cool stuff
17:16Now, I'm going to show you
17:18It didn't actually ask us to log in
17:20Sometimes it asks you to log in, and it's really easy to do
17:25I'm not sure why it didn't ask us to do it this time
17:27I'm assuming it's because I've already logged in on another device
17:31But sometimes it will ask you to log in, and all you have to do is log in with your Google account
17:38Okay? And with that, you get, like, a thousand hits
17:43Okay? You can interact with the model a thousand times
17:47It doesn't mean you get the absolute best version of the model, but you get a very good version for a thousand requests, which means they want you to use this
17:53Okay? When they're giving you a thousand requests, think about, like with Claude or ChatGPT, when you're using, um, excuse me, when you're using those tools and you start to do, uh, and you're not logged in, you get like five or ten requests and it says, "Yeah, you're done." They're giving you 1,000 requests with the model, which means that they want you to use this, okay? Which again goes back to, um, my assumption that the competition, or rather, which one of these is going to dominate on the computer, is decided
18:23They want you using Google
18:25Okay, this kind of means it's an exciting time for us because that means the companies are starting to compete over how much free stuff they give us
18:33So, um, very cool
18:36Now, if I go ahead and— Close this out, okay, it's gone
18:40Okay, because we just did the local, we didn't do the local install
18:44We just did the one-time install, and we did that because we used this command
18:54We used the MPX command
18:56All right
18:58So, now we're going to go ahead and move forward with the local install
18:59So, we'll click on over to our browser, and we're going to see here again… Whoops
19:04We've got—we've got, uh, we ran this one, which performed the individual install
19:09Now, we're going to use this command here
19:12Now, here's the thing, though: this command is going to install the files locally, which means that we can access them just by using Gemini and all this
19:19But when we install it like this, it's installing into a system folder, so it's not… Actually, installing it into an actual folder on our computer
19:27Um, it's like putting it—it's probably drilling it into the AppData folder, which is fine
19:34Although, I don't typically like doing that because, one, it locks you into your C drive
19:37So, if programs ever expand, then I'm eating up my C drive
19:41Usually, my C drive is the weakest point of my storage strategy, right? Like, I'm always running out of space on my C drive because, when things are getting cached, that's where they're going
19:52Okay, so what I want to do is install this on my D drive, where I have lots of storage
20:03So, what I'm going to do is take this, copy it, and then I'm going to go over—and I'm going to do..
20:16Let's go like this
20:30We're going to open up ChatGPT, okay? And I'm going to say—I'm going to paste that in there, and I'm going to go, "How can I install this to another drive? I want it in the current folder I'm in." Hey, let's just see what that does
20:43Okay, so it's going to give us a—okay, so here it's going to give us a command
20:47That dot is going to mean the folder we're in
20:48So, looking at it, it looks the same
20:51If we type here, "npm install data Gemini CLI," but then it’s going to say prefix, and then it's giving us a path
20:59And that dot means the current folder I’m in
21:03Now, if I change that to a name like "app," it would create a folder called "app" and then install it there
21:10So, let's go ahead and just copy this, and we..
21:12You can paste this in
21:15And again, we see that npm is the app that we're calling
21:17We're telling it we want to install from this place
21:18And then again, that prefix is telling us to install into this folder
21:23But you know what? For the sake of this, let's go ahead and give this a name
21:27Let's just go ahead and call it Gym CLI or whatever
21:30I don't know
21:33Whatever
21:36Let's give it a name just so it'll be easier for us when we're looking at it
21:39Now, it's going to go ahead and install
21:42Okay
21:45And if we pop over here real quick, you're going to see that it went ahead and created our Gym CLI folder in here
21:48And then if we click into that, you're going to see that it created the app here
21:53Now, what we're going to be interested in here is this node
21:55Modules folder and then this bin folder in here, okay, is where you're going to find your command, your Gemini
22:04And Gemini is how we're going to run this
22:06In fact, if we go back to our browser, it'll show us over here
22:10Let's get rid of this stuff
22:14To install it, you do this npm install, and then you run your Gemini
22:17Okay
22:21So, what we're going to want to do is add this to our environmental variables
22:25Now, again, supposedly if you just run this like this, it installs it into your Windows system and sets up your environmental variable for you
22:37But it's not always guaranteed
22:39In fact, the first time I did this, Gemini did not work
22:41So, you still need to know how to get into your..
22:45Environmental variables, in case you need to
22:47So, for our sake, since we went ahead and installed it into an actual app or into an actual folder itself, what we're going to want to do is find this folder here, 'bin'
22:59Okay, we're going to want to add this to environmental variables
23:01So, what we do is just click up here; it's going toHighlight it all
23:05And I'm just going to hit Control + C to copy that
23:08Okay, then what we're going to need to do is go like this
23:14I'm going to switch to a desktop view
23:16Now, you can see how messy all of this is
23:18So, let me clean this up a little bit here
23:24Okay, got a lot of stuff going on here
23:27All right
23:28So, what we're going to do is click on our Windows icon over here and we're..
23:31I'm going to type and edit the system environmental variables
23:34Okay
23:37Then from down here, you're going to see a button that says "Environmental Variables." So, let's go ahead
23:41We could do it for the user or we could do it for the system-wide settings
23:44But I'm going to go ahead and use the system-wide option
23:47I'll click here where it says "Path" and then click "Edit." Okay
23:50And then, as you can see, all your entries are listed here
23:52This is where your Conda stuff is
23:56What this is, is this is showing you—the environmental variables are basically for your computer
24:05When your computer is asked to do something, like run a program or execute Git, it needs to know where to find it
24:12How does it know what this is? So, it goes to a specific location based on these environment variables
24:19The system functions like a book dictionary, and it asks, "Do I know what this is? Do I know what Git is? Do I know what Python is? Do I know what Gemini is?" It goes through this book, finds the information, and responds, "Oh, I do
24:31Okay, here it is." Then it checks the other entries, like "What does this say over here?" and interprets accordingly
24:33So, this list is used to see, "Do I recognize any of these things?" What we're going to do is click "New" and then paste in the directory
24:42We'll specify the directory where it's installed and include everything inside the "bin" folder, which gives us access to the Gemini command
24:49Then we click "OK," then again, "OK," and once more, "OK." Now, we're back in business
25:02Let's get this back over here
25:03Okay
25:05Now, popping back into here
25:07Um, we'll have to close this out because when we add a new environment variable, we have to reset our system
25:13So, let's go ahead and close this out, and then reopen it
25:14Now, if we type Gemini, you're going to see that it actually pops up in whatever folder we created in
25:26So, it opens up there in the D drive
25:30Okay
25:35If we exit it out and go back to our temp directory, and we type Gemini, it would open up in our temp directory
25:39And, of course, this is important because whatever directory we're in is where it's going to do the files from, the files it's going to access
25:43Okay
25:47So, let's, uh, let's pop over here real quick
25:50And if we..
25:52Scroll down the Gemini page here, and we'll see examples
25:55You notice here, like they're changing directory into a new project, so that, um, they're saying in this new project I want you to actually create some files in that folder
26:05Um, run Gemini to get it, and it says, "Write me a Gemini Discord bot that answers questions using FAQ.mid that I will provide." That's great, a Discord bot
26:09You guys love Discord bots
26:13Who doesn't? Okay
26:16So let's go ahead and grab this, and let's do it
26:19Let's copy this
26:23Let's head back to our command line
26:24Okay
26:26And let's get into the folder we've got
26:28So, we're already—let's see here
26:29Hold on
26:31We're already in the temp directory
26:33Let's make a directory called DiscordBot
26:36Okay
26:39And I'm I'm going to type 'cd'
26:43So, I typed 'mkdir' to make a directory called 'discordbot'
26:46'Mkdir'
26:50Then I'm going to type 'cd' for change directory, and we're going to go inside that folder, 'discordbot'
26:54'CD discordbot'
26:56Okay
26:59Now, I'm going to type 'Gemini'
27:01So, it brings us into here
27:03If I go in here and right-click, it will paste what we want into here
27:07Okay
27:11Now, if I ever want to add another line, just on a side note, if you ever want a new line, you have to hold down the Control button, hit Enter
27:14Okay, and it'll give you a new line
27:18But if you just press Enter or Shift and Enter, it will just send the command
27:21But let's say: Write me a Gemini Discord bot that answers questions using an FAQ MD file I provide
27:27Give instructions, create an instruction file, and… Let's say create an HTML instructions page as well
27:42Okay
27:44So, it's going to go ahead and it'll think through it
27:47It was sent off to Gemini
27:49Gemini is going to look at it
27:52And now, remember, it's in our folder
27:55Okay, let me see if I can get over to the folder that we're looking at
27:56So, it's actually going to be creating stuff in that Discord bot folder
28:00But notice it comes over here
28:04It wants permission first
28:05So, we'll say yes; we give permission to Skynet there
28:10Okay, it's going to go there
28:15Now, if we pop over to our file explorer, you're going to see that it's actually creating the files
28:21There's `pyfaq-instructions` there, creating `requirements.txt`, all this good stuff
28:30It's wanting more permissions
28:34Oh, it's..
28:37Actually, wanting to install our requirements for us, so we'll just go ahead and let it do it
28:41Why not? Okay, so it's going to go ahead
28:44It's doing—look at that
28:46It's doing it all
28:47Oh, whoops
28:49Here we are
28:51It's doing it all for us
28:53It asked us—what you missed there was it just asked for permissions
28:55We said, "Yeah, go ahead and pip install." So, it's installing, and then we'll be able to make some changes to it as well as we want
29:04 In the meantime, we could pop back over
29:07Oh, here it goes
29:09Now you can run the bot
29:11Open a terminal
29:13It tells us what to do
29:15Run the command: `python bot.py`
29:17Once the bot is running, you can invite it to your Discord server
29:18 Da d d
29:19Okay, so it asks more
29:19We go back over to our explorer, and here..
29:20Let's click our instructions file and see what it says
29:21It created Gemini Discord bot instructions, giving us everything we need
29:22Okay, it tells us how to set this up
29:24Notice, this wasn't enough instructions, so let's go back and say update the instructions file on how to install and create the bot in Discord using Discord Developer Portal
29:40Normally, it would have done this automatically; I think I messed it up because I asked for instructions itself, but normally it would grab that information
29:57What it's doing now is going through the process to update the file
30:10If we go back to our explorer here, we see the instructions in HTML
30:15And you're going to see that here in just a second
30:19The date modified is going to update because we've granted it access to actually change the file
30:26Notice we're doing all of this without even touching code
30:28So, we pop back over to here
30:30Now, I do want to show you this really quick
30:32Notice we've got green and red
30:35Normally, when you see this, people think red is an error
30:40No
30:45What this is doing is it's showing you what it's removed
30:50So, it's saying, "Hey, I removed this file." That's why it has a minus sign, and I added this stuff
30:55So, everything in red is something it removed
30:58So here, it had H2 and it said "two setup," but what replaced it with is "H2 creating a Discord bot and getting your token." Okay, so all this stuff
31:06Everything that was created has been removed from the existing file
31:08I added this to the existing file, and it's done
31:11If we head back over to Explorer, you'll see that our instructions, date modified, has updated
31:18So, let's click it again
31:21Go back to our browser, and now we'll see create a Discord bot with your token
31:25Click the Discord Developer Portal, new applications, and navigate to the Bot tab
31:27So, it's giving us all of the directions that we need
31:32Very cool, huh? So, now let's pop over to Discord
31:37I went ahead and created one of these for the Cog for the Get Going Fast Cognu Discord server because a lot of people come in and ask the same questions
31:45So, I use this bot to say, let's create simple commands on how to..
31:52so when people..
31:54People can come in and ask these things, and they can get help easily without me having to type the same thing a hundred times
31:58So, let's go over to the Discord and take a look, and I'll show you how that is implemented
32:08Anyway, so here we go
32:08We're on the Cogni Build site
32:10Now, notice if someone comes in and says, "Which Python version is the best?" I've created this feature where my FAQ bot catches that and responds with, "This might help," followed by the Python version question, and it then provides the answer
32:19Okay
32:29Now, the version we made isn't as sophisticated as this, in that it monitors for you, but it gives you a list; here's your command line
32:38Okay, where we're running this thing
32:39Gosh
32:39And we could ask it
32:40Say something like, say this is great
32:41Uh, make it so that the bot is always listening and responds to trigger words used in the question
32:53Right? So now I'm saying I want to expand the bot
33:00Okay? So I'm just typing it in here
33:02Notice I'm not going to touch any code at all
33:07Okay? All the code is sitting over here, over here, and it's going to do all of the work
33:24It's just going to change all this for us
33:27So, you'll see the date, modified, time, all that will change, okay? As it's doing the work
33:32So, we go back over to here
33:36So, it's going through it, making the changes, figuring out how to do it
33:40We're just sitting here waiting, right? So, you can actually be off playing Baldur's Gate while it's working
33:45Oh, I do want to..
33:48Let me show you this
33:50Notice this stuff appears here, and it says shows red and it shows green
33:53Now, I know that a lot of times we see red, we think, oh, it's an error
34:01What this is doing is showing you what it's added
34:03Okay? So, when you see the plus and all this green, it indicates I added this
34:07When you see the red and a minus, it shows I removed this
34:11So, it's showing you what it's adding and removing—adding this, removing that
34:13Okay? So, it's showing you everything it did in that file
34:15Okay? And now it says, I've updated the bot's logic
34:19It will now listen for keywords, and so on
34:21If we go over to our file explorer, you'll see that here, bot.py, the date modified has changed, just now
34:32So, it went ahead and updated it
34:33So, we would probably just run our run.bat after we've done everything to get it sorted into our Discord bot
34:41Then, our Discord bot will run differently, which is what I did over here with my Discord bot
34:45Okay
34:49So, I can ask it, and I'll just say, uh, I'm having problems with root index error
34:52Okay
34:56And then it pops up because this is a very common question that people have, and I'm able to give them the answers
34:58Okay
35:00Really cool stuff, easy peasy bot to run
35:05Okay
35:09And I did all this; I did another one over here under Games, and I created an InfoCom bot
35:14I don't know if you guys know Interactive Fiction or not, but I created a bot using an Interactive Fiction interpreter, and I can put games into here, text games, and I can say..
35:20Play game, uh, Lost Pig
35:26And we'll actually—whoops—and I gave it the commands that I wanted
35:32I was able to say, "Use these commands to do stuff." So, there it starts the game
35:42Okay, and then I can, uh, give it directions, and I get to play the game here
35:49I did this all through Gemini CLI by just prompting it through here, and I didn't even touch the code
35:56Okay, so like I said, guys, we're getting into Star Trek here
35:59Computer, do this, blah blah blah
36:01Then it was like, "Okay, I'm doing it
36:04Calculating," and it's getting it done
36:08How incredibly cool is this? Okay, now I want to show you a few other things you can do with this, and then we'll call it good because we've got it installed
36:18Okay, we've got it so that we can go to any folder we..
36:22I want to, and type Gemini, and it's going to pop up there
36:26Okay, so let's do it from—uh, let's, I'm going to close this one out
36:29Let's go to our file explorer, and let's do it from here
36:33Let's go to my Pictures folder
36:34Okay, now I'm going to do something really basic that probably isn't all that helpful, but let's grab an image
36:40Let's get this one here of Pamela Anderson and a Ninja Turtle
36:47Let's right-click on it, and I'm going to get its name
36:54Okay, I'm going to copy that
36:55Now, let's go ahead, and what we're going to do is open up Gemini in this folder
37:01Okay, so it’s going to pop up like this
37:04And you're going to notice that we're in the Pictures folder
37:06Okay, now, let's do this
37:08I'm going to..
37:10Let's just say, describe this image, and then I'm going to put the name of the image in there
37:16Now, it's going to be able to find it because we're actually in this folder
37:23So, I'm going to go ahead and press Enter
37:26It's going to send it up there
37:30It'll give me text
37:34Now, this will be good for things like, in case you're running apps or something like that, and you want to know what the image is or you want to do something with it
37:38It can get it and it'll help with your automations
37:41 So, this is a high-quality photorealistic photo showing two figures
37:43On the left is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, most likely Raphael
37:47On the right is one with bright blue eyes, so it didn't catch—oh, it said it actually did
37:50It's reminiscent of a..
37:5190s area celebrity like Pamela Anderson
37:53So, that caught that
37:54That was really excellent
37:56Okay
37:58Um, I could say something like, um, help me organize this, um, this folder
38:00Give me some tips
38:02Okay
38:04And it will go and look at everything on here and give tips
38:06In fact, what you can do with this is ask it questions about what each file is and what I should be doing with each
38:23In fact, I did that
38:26I have a music folder where I've got just too much stuff
38:30And I said, "Listen, I need some help organizing this." But, of course, it's not going to know what every song is
38:35So, it says, "Okay, let's create some basic folders to put stuff in." And I said, "Okay, ask me questions to pin down." What each one of these files are and where they should go
38:45So, then it came up and started asking me questions, and it said, "Well, what about this file? What kind of music is this?" I said, "Well, this is this." What is this? I said, "Well, this is this," and it was kind of too pedantic, one at a time, so I said, "Ask me about five files at once and give me options, and I'll give you the answers separated by commas." So, it did that
39:06Okay, and then it showed me five files, like, "Okay, this one is for background music, this one is an actual downloaded song, this one is something that I'm working on," and I was able to type it all in, and it says, "Okay, organized." Then here's the next five, and we went through that, and then it says, "Okay, this is the file." The structure that we're going to create, and then I was able to automate it so that it created the file structure, moved everything in there, and organized my folder for me
39:15That's incredible
39:25Okay, so, uh, all right
39:34So, here we came back and looked at the same thing here
39:36We asked it to help organize this
39:38Here's a potential new structure: photos, camera roll, people, Laura, mom, puppies
39:42So, it gave us some ideas of stuff we could do
39:48And then, again, we could just go ahead and say, "Okay, go ahead and create it and put that in there." Now, let's, um, do one more thing
39:59Let's go back over to our explorer and go to our documents, and let's say we got this puppy contract here
40:05Okay, so, I'm going to rename that
40:07I'm going to copy
40:09Now, same thing
40:11I'm going to open up Gemini in this folder
40:12Okay
40:14Now, notice I'm in my Documents folder
40:15And now I'm going to say create a web, create an HTML site
40:17HTML
40:18Oh, hold on
40:20Let me click over
40:23Sorry
40:25Okay, create an HTML page based upon the file Puppy Contract PDF
40:28Okay
40:32Um, create, uh, places where the user can input the information that changes
40:34Um, add a save function to save to computer as PDF
40:37So now what I've done is I've given it a file that exists
40:40I'm asking it to create something, and um, and I'm hitting Enter
40:45So it's going to go, it's going to actually upload that PDF, go through it
41:04This, hey, there you are
41:12Okay
41:20It's going to go through all of that and it's going to give us an HTML file
41:28So I'll Pause this here
41:30I'm not sure how long it's going to take, so we'll just pause it
41:35Be right back
41:39Okay
41:44And then, notice it's asking us for permission again, so I'm just going to say yes, always
41:48Sometimes you get multiple of these because it's doing different things
41:52Remember, we don't want Skynet taking over
41:54So, it's..
41:57And I have found out, by the way, that running stuff in your user folders still limits it on some things
41:59But notice it says I've created the HTML file "puppy_contract.html" in your Documents folder
42:05Okay, so let's, if I scroll down to there, and I run it—let's click it up and go to the browser
42:12Notice it went ahead and made a puppy agreement for us
42:16Okay, I can do all this stuff with..
42:18Enter it in
42:21There's our save as PDF, and it works
42:23It brings it up, so that was really easy
42:25This was all on our computer
42:29This is all free through Google
42:33You get a thousand hits—a thousand a day, guys—is a lot
42:37Okay, so again, what they're wanting you to do is use this in your normal life
42:41They're creating the Star Trek computer
42:45All right, computer, check what's in my fridge
42:49See what I can cook
42:55Okay, computer, get the contract from the puppy thing and email it to this person
43:01So, we're getting to the point where we will be able to integrate all of this into here
43:04And if we go back over here to our..
43:10Browser, you're going to notice that it says up here at the top that you can use tools and MCP servers to connect new capabilities, including media generation and other features
43:22So, they're going to have more and more tools that you're able to start integrating into your system, such as image generation and video generation
43:27We're going to reach a point where we don't have to use the keyboard at all; we'll just be typing this stuff
43:36But again, it's a race because everyone will be looking to see who uses which AI system at home
43:42Do you use Google? No, I use OpenAI
43:49No, I use Claude
43:50You know, it's just going to be like our cable providers
43:51You're probably going to end up choosing between them
43:56Here, in another year or two, um, paying 60 bucks, 100 bucks a month to have your AI stuff, just like you do with your cable and internet
44:05Okay, so that's what they're fighting for
44:07That's why they're giving it to us right now for free to use
44:09But this is exciting
44:11It means that you can actually create your systems
44:12This is open source
44:14You can build stuff on it and it actually means you can sell it
44:17Um, of course, they like that because you're selling stuff that's then required to go through Gemini, which means that, you know, after a certain while, they're just going to want you to pay for a service, but it's great
44:26They want you to build, and they want a little piece of the pie
44:30Hey, that's great
44:32You know, Google, thank you so much
44:33Much
44:34You created something that I can go out and create with
44:36You’ve helped me to generate some wealth, and so you get a little bit of that wealth too
44:41This is excellent stuff, guys
44:42This is the future
44:43And I, I can't say it enough
44:44I’m not a big fan of running this kind of software on my computer because I like stuff that works well
44:51In the past, we’ve had these systems already, but they’ve been small open-source solutions that kind of do stuff, kind of don’t
44:58They’ve been sketchy, you know, you’ve got to be careful with that kind of software
45:01Well, Google has now given us a big platform, a large platform on which to do this safely, one that isolates your system
45:08It’s not going to be perfect because..
45:11In isolating your system and protecting you, you know, you can't do everything
45:15It's probably not going to make registry changes for me, but it is going to do a lot of the other basic stuff
45:22This is huge, it's big, it's great, and it's so easy to use and so easily integrable into your Windows system
45:29You set up your environment, and then whatever folder you're in, you type Gemini
45:36If you go over to the GetGo Going Fast page here, where you download this, I have actually added in the registry add
45:42You can create your own registry addition
45:47So, I just right-click in a folder, click Gemini CLI, and it loads it up
45:53That's part of this package here
45:54If you're a member or you get this, You can actually get the registry ID for free, and then it will add it in there as well
46:06But otherwise, just go to your Gemini CLI and ask it to do it for you
46:11Say, "Hey, create me a registry thing that will allow me to run this app from whatever folder I want." And thus, you've made it incredibly integrable
46:17Whatever folder you're in, you can access it, and Gemini will do your stuff for you
46:22It's awesome, it's incredible, and I hope you enjoy it
46:24So, we're going to end it there
46:26Be sure to come hang out with us over on the Discord
46:29You're welcome to chat with us, share stuff

46:44Installing stuff, but you guys are smarter than me
46:46You take it to the next level
46:48I get you started, like I'm showing the basics here—your basic chords—and all of a sudden, you guys are making C major 7s, diminished chords, whatever else, and I'm thinking, okay, wow, I couldn't have done that
46:57But you know, I taught you the foundations so that you can do that
47:01Come share your foundations, come be a source of wisdom for other people on our Discord server
