00:02All right, and we are live
00:04What's going on, guys? It's Ricky with Tech Solutions
00:06Hope you all are having an amazing Wednesday
00:07Today is September 16th, 10:47 a.m., and we are live for the FOMC interest rate decision and press conference
00:17All of my positions are fully closed
00:20Our LPP is ready to watch the market react
00:24Instead of trying to predict—since, again, everyone can take a trade beforehand—I think it's safer, which I know may be super boring
00:33But I believe it's safer to wait for the market to react and then trade the reaction
00:37We're looking for two specific things: the rate decision and, after the press conference, just so you guys can see—as part of my LPP team, you saw my live
00:44Trades today
00:50If you ever want to join us, it's the second link in the description down below to join and watch us trade live every morning at market open
00:56You don't want to miss out tomorrow
00:58With that being said, $2,600 on the day, position fully closed on Dell Technologies
01:03I also had a position on Intel (INTC), which was a small little position
01:08If I had known it would sell off so quickly, I would have reacted differently
01:11Again, you can watch today's live session to see everything
01:15I made $480, and my position was fully closed
01:19My favorite one, not my favorite necessarily, but the stock I enjoy shorting the most, is MicroStrategy (MSTR)
01:21I closed that position pretty early, and I made over $9,000
01:29I'm so grateful for it after shorting this stock yesterday, MicroStrategy
01:31Today, we made $2,400
01:34The position is fully closed
01:37Why am I choosing not to take a trade right before the markets report, just before the FOMC rate decision? I can't predict the future, right? People get so offended when I share my opinions and thoughts
01:54I literally just share the data that is publicly available, right? Um, and if I were so certain, I would take a trade, right? Like, I would take an aggressive trade right before the report
02:03I'm not selling any of my long-term investments, but there's also no reason to add the added risk of, who knows? There's a really high probability, supposedly, that the Federal Reserve is going to raise rates, but are we always going to believe a probability tool? We..
02:23Live and partaking in one of the most irrational markets, in my opinion, that I've ever seen
02:27We have a president who loves to tweet and manipulate markets
02:31He loves to get involved, give his two cents, but there are so many red flags, right? Inflation, bond market concerns, oil concerns, Iran concerns, housing concerns, labor market concerns
02:36I mean, the list goes on
02:42But markets are trading nearly at all-time highs
02:47I can have my opinions, you can have yours, but it doesn't mean that we have to be so naive as to force a trade against overall markets
03:00Although there is a high probability that the Federal Reserve is going to raise interest rates, I am not convinced
03:04If they do, I would love to see it
03:07I would love to see the markets drop
03:10I'm ready for it
03:13I'm ready to short if needed, but I'm also ready to buy the dip on good quality companies because we all know that markets are more bullish than bearish, right? Uh, there it goes
03:17We have people starting to tune in
03:19I'm going to say what's up
03:20I'm going to shut up for a little bit
03:21Say what's up to everyone
03:23Um, let me go ahead and publish this
03:27All right
03:31Oh, shoot, I almost forgot to share the link with our people on Instagram
03:34[snorts] One second
03:45All right, cool
03:53We are good to go
04:00How are you guys feeling? Bullish, bearish? Are you in cash? Are you ready to go? Right? Are you like, you don't care what happens with the market? You're just ready to react live now
04:05Tune in
04:09Perfect
04:11Bearish in this bug
04:13Okay
04:15Bullish
04:16I like that
04:19Switching it up
04:21Not letting people know your next move
04:24Okay
04:28Let me go ahead and take this one down
04:31Perfect
04:34Bloody, bloody, bloody
04:37Again, [clears throat], uh, first time in an FOMC, second month of day trading after seven years of following you
04:40I took the chance to switch up careers
04:42What's going on, Hugo? I want to remind you, trading
04:48I actually just got a question via Instagram, and it was a kid who was super young
04:52He wanted to get a job, but he's like, I'm just going to jump into trading
04:56I've shared—maybe I need to reshare my story on how I got started
05:02Um, because I just don't film really videos like that
05:04Maybe I can get back to it, kind of on Sundays, and film a video
05:07Like that
05:11But I love the idea of a beginner, especially when you're young, that you have a stable job
05:14I had a stable job up until about 20 or 21 years old
05:22Stability is key
05:30My biggest fear for beginners— I can't speak for you, I'm just saying for me— is that if you are in a position where you need to make money in the market just to stay afloat, I believe you will make more irrational decisions, especially when you don't really know what you are doing
05:37There's a learning curve, and it takes time to learn what you are doing and to make money consistently
05:41Why force stress upon yourself in an already super challenging market when you don't need to? Think about this: what if you work twice as hard, you have a normal job, you have your… Expenses are covered, and then on the side, you learn to trade or invest in a way that if you make money, great
06:02You're still learning, right? If you're break-even or you lose a little bit of money, then it's fine because you don't depend on it
06:11The biggest thing is you need to make sure that you test this market in a way that encourages you to learn more and to implement healthy habits, but not in a way that discourages you
06:21There are a lot of people who start trading, and you might come from a lot of money
06:28You just put money into it, thinking that it has to go in your favor, and you learn very quickly that it doesn't matter how successful you are in another area
06:34This kind of trading has its own challenges
06:37Take time, test this market, and even just figure it out
06:42Do you want to find out if this is a market you want to partake in, right? And you can do that best when you do it with a tasteful dollar amount, right? Not too large and enough for you to take it seriously, right? So, um, is there a lag? Can you run a special on LP on the occasion of a rate hike? Uh, we're already running a sale
07:06We have a, um, actually, we have a few of you guys, because you watched today's live session
07:12If you follow me on Instagram, I'm always posting there
07:13Uh, and we allowed people to watch today's live session
07:17There have been a few live sessions that I've shared with you guys
07:20People just, again, loved it
07:24If you ever want to check it out, like I said, you guys are more than welcome to
07:26The second link
07:28In the description down below, you will find a link to learn more at planprofit.com
07:30You can scroll down and watch today's live session
07:33So, what the heck? I don't know why it does that now
07:37It distorted it
07:41But watch the live session from today to see what it's like
07:45If you like it, great
07:48If you don't, it's all good, right? You do not have to join our team if you don't like what we have to offer
07:51I literally explain everything that's included
07:53It's a one-time payment for lifetime access
07:55And as you see with the current September deal 26 sale, it breaks down to approximately $110 a day if you divide it over a year
08:00But it's lifetime access
08:05We have people who signed up back in 2018, paid once, and still have access today
08:10But That's again, we'll talk about that in a little bit once the rate decision is officially announced
08:13The NASDAQ market is currently up 7% in the green, and then we will see how markets are likely to react
08:21Remember, at the very bottom of our Learn Plan Profit page—depending on if you click on it—we have the economic calendar
08:30You guys can feel free to check it out
08:31Today is Wednesday, and again, we are waiting for the rate decision
08:33This will tell us if it actually comes in in line with expectations—that is, a rate hike of 25 basis points—or if it comes in below
08:38I would love to see a rate hike
08:43I do not believe we're going to get it
08:48So, like I said, my positions are fully closed
08:50I'm ready to react
08:52I don't even know if I'm going to get the chance
08:54To trade the initial reaction, I kind of want to wait for the press conference because 30 minutes after the rate decision, we have the press conference
09:00And in between that, I figured we have a 30-minute gap
09:06If you guys want me to stay live for the press conference, we can break down a few different stocks together depending on how the markets react and all that good stuff, right? So, we'll be using the Investing Pro software
09:19If you guys do not have this software, today’s going to be a little tutorial for you on how to use it and also why I use it
09:27Then, we'll talk about it in a little bit, to be able to do more of a fundamental analysis on the companies you're investing or trading in
09:32So, here we go
09:34Let's do it
09:37[snorts] Let's stay live
09:39All right
09:40Hopefully, I earned your thumbs up
09:42Don't forget to subscribe to the channel
09:43And I have exciting news
09:46If you stay until the very end of the video, I am telling you, especially if you're part of the LPP team
09:51If you're thinking, if you're actually considering joining, even if you're not, we're going to be doing this giveaway
09:57We're locking it in today
09:59It’s going to start next week
10:01And I'm telling you, if you're a beginner and you're incentivized by money, we're going to be doing weekly giveaways
10:09I'll talk a little more about it at the end of the video
10:12And I think a lot of you guys are really going to be looking forward to it
10:15So, all right
10:18Cover DJT Ricky
10:21I do not trade stocks, just kidding
10:24Here it goes
10:27DJ, I mean, it is a company, but, um, a strong descending overall pattern
10:31This is all momentum-based
10:33I would say that anytime there's hype, right, you see these reversals form
10:36I don't trade specific plays like this
10:38If you want to, be my guest
10:40Uh, I view this as a high-risk, high-reward type of approach
10:42But yeah, there's money to be made if you know how to buy at these oversold levels
10:47It rallies up, and you know how to take profits
10:49You can try to short into the highs from the lows
10:51But overall, a strong descending pattern, lower highs, lower lows
10:55The reason I call it a company is because, again, if we jump into the Investing Pro software, you guys..
11:00You can quickly see 12% downside
11:02It's a company that loses a billion dollars a year, with a negative P/E ratio
11:07Just fundamentally speaking, it is a terrible business
11:09But again, even terrible businesses can thrive during irrational markets
11:12This is Trump's media company
11:15So, if you want to invest in it because you think it's the future, who am I to hold you back from investing in companies you believe in? But again, being able to make more informed decisions by not just understanding your companies fundamentally or technically, but also fundamentally— that is the whole point of investing properly
11:32So, again, we'll talk about this in a little bit, but there's a 55% off flash sale
11:35You have 22 hours if you want to
11:38Take advantage of it
11:41This means that if you do, this is for the Investing Pro software, less than $9 a month
11:44So ask yourself, is it worth $9 a month to have access to the software? Only you can decide if you think it's worth it, depending on what you want to know about the companies that you're investing in
11:48All right, here we go
11:51One minute left
11:57Thirty seconds
12:03Are you guys ready? All right, without further ado, let's see how markets react
12:09Bullish or bearish? What do you guys think? [snorts] Okay, here we go
12:20Five, four, three, two, one
12:30It's what we've all been waiting for
12:36Where is it? Come on
12:39Get out of here
12:52What's going on here? Remember, 700 is a common support for QQQ
12:59I believe if they hike rates, we will see a drop
13:03That's just my..
13:07Opinion, though, right? They did
13:12They did
13:29They did, right? Oh, I didn't think they would
13:37Oh, yep
13:40Looks like it's 4%
13:43Oh, baby
13:45Look at that
13:47It's dropping
13:48I have no skin in the game right now
13:50I have no skin in the game
13:52I'm just happy to see it drop
13:54Let's see, let's see if markets react
13:57Remember, people were assuming that it's priced in
13:58Maybe it is
14:00I don't think it is
14:01I think markets are likely to nose-dive
14:04I think markets were so speculative that they probably assumed they were going to keep raising rates
14:10Look at that, Coinbase, of course, cryptocurrency
14:15Crypto will not thrive during higher interest rates
14:19It's all speculative markets
14:22Look at that, Robinhood nose-diving
14:24Oh boy, here we go
14:27Dell Technologies not
14:30Doing terrible
14:33How are the semiconductor or memory chip stocks doing? Marvel huge pullback
14:41Where is it? Where is it? How's Tesla doing? Not really influenced
14:44Bloom Energy had a little pullback
14:51SanDisk pullback
14:54MU
14:57Wow, look at that
15:01Kevin Walsh actually doing what he's supposed to, not bending the knee to Trump
15:04I'm impressed
15:06I really am
15:08Maybe he did vote
15:10We're going to learn more about him in just a little bit
15:12Honestly, markets are not moving very much
15:15Maybe it is priced in, right? Look at that
15:20Markets consolidating
15:26Markets are up 72% on the day, right? It's not that they moved up shortly after the report, but as of right now, it's priced in
15:31It makes no sense to me how they could even be celebrating
15:36So again, 4% is now where we were, uh, now where we are at
15:39We were at 3.7%
15:41So again, the Federal Reserve has officially raised interest rates
15:47Irrational times support irrational valuations
15:49Right now, markets are saying that we knew this was going to happen
15:56In 27 minutes, we have the FOMC press conference
15:58That's where I keep wanting to say Jerome Powell
16:01Uh, that is where Kevin Walsh, who's the head of the Federal Reserve, will be speaking live
16:08You guys want me to go live for that, right? Bitcoin is not moving at all
16:10No one gives an F
16:18I would say people care enough that we're tuning in live to watch him, right? [snorts] You don't need to get offended
16:24Hey, I'm not here to offend you
16:26Not here to offend you
16:32Can you imagine? Getting so frustrated by how the market is moving that you begin to take it out on someone who has no influence on the overall market? Pretty crazy, huh? I think it's just to show — remember, do not invest or trade with a dollar amount that you cannot tolerate
16:51You don't want to look like a fool
16:54Most importantly, you don't want to feel like a fool when markets are incredibly volatile right now
17:00There's a reason why
17:02Again, I can have my opinions just like you, but before the report came out, I just closed out my trades
17:06Trades were closed for the day
17:09I kept it simple and safe, and now we're waiting for a more clear direction, maybe more clear opportunities
17:13All right
17:17Happy to be here to go live with you guys
17:21Again, if you guys want me to stay live, all I ask you to do is drop a thumbs up and make sure you're subscribed to the channel
17:26We have over 3,000 viewers here, but only 300 likes
17:30If we could get this live stream to over 1,000 likes, that would be greatly appreciated
17:36In the meantime, we can start breaking down a few stocks together, and we can go from there
17:43I kind of like this overbought reversal
17:45It'd be super risky to take even before the press conference
17:49I really don't know if I want to do that
17:56Look at that—could it just go for an absolute breakout, an absolute run right now? Possibly
18:00Right
18:04Micron, you guys calling out Micron right now? Let's pull it up
18:09Micron, technically..
18:13Speaking, 900 has been a common support range, right? If we look at previous patterns, it has a big leg up if markets begin to recover
18:18We might be saying, Ricky, but they just raised rates
18:20How could markets begin to recover? It wouldn't be the craziest thing in this market, right? We all know markets have been incredibly irrational
18:26Look at this MicroStrategy trying to run
18:33And it's possible, uh, rate hike
18:39Let's see what Trump Country stops trading when he promises to do so if the Fed disobeyed him
18:44Oh, true
18:48I guess, I guess we'll see, right? News has been out
18:50Yeah, we reported on the news right when it came out
18:59All right
19:02Uh, Ricky, not you
19:05The market, I meant
19:07I never have put you
19:09Oh, okay
19:11When you comment something
19:12Like that, and it says, I don't know what—what did you say again? No one cares
19:15Um, all I view it as is you're talking to me, right? I'm just reading a live chat
19:25Yeah, it's hard to read or understand text
19:27So, um, here we go
19:29NASDAQ market
19:31I think we're just approaching overbought levels
19:33Are you guys cool with me taking a small little trade? A little overbought reversal
19:38I'm going to take a small one here
19:40Let's see
19:42Just have some skin in the game
19:46Let's compare because I was shorting Microsoft, MicroStrategy, and Dell
19:51Dell's been definitely more bullish, a little bit more stubborn
19:53Um, MicroStrategy is a little bit more rational
19:56It's only about 1% downside there
20:01Um, I'll do a $12,000 short, so 100 shares short
20:03Again, this is..
20:06My trade
20:07This is not yours
20:09Very quickly, we can see where we're at
20:11Again, there's a lot more upside based on recent highs
20:15So, please understand that
20:17Uh, that's why my position is so light right now
20:19Um, but based on, you know, proper risk-to-reward, if it does begin to sell off and because my position is so light, I feel pretty well positioned right now, right? Just so you can see, 100 shares is the only position that I have open
20:34$12,000, super small short in comparison to what I trade with
20:38I'm not calling $12,000 a small dollar amount
20:42Remember, it's all relative to what you're used to trading with
20:44I short MicroStrategy sometimes with $300,000, right? That is my dollar amount that I'm used to and that I can
20:48Tolerate
20:51We're all at different levels
20:55Do not compare your profits to mine or yours to others
20:56You don't know the dollar amount they are putting behind the trades
21:01Okay? I just want to remind you of that
21:03You've actually helped me a lot
21:05I've been here for years
21:08I just changed my name
21:09Fresh Toast
21:10You kind of sound familiar
21:11That's why I was like, what the hell? But I'm happy to hear that you've found our YouTube channel to be of value
21:21Ricky, do you really like the MACD indicator? No, I don't necessarily really like anything
21:25I think indicators are to be used as a reference, never as a sole reason for taking a trade
21:28I think price action is more important than anything
21:33Um, but RSI, I don't mind it
21:35As you can..
21:37See, NASDAQ is testing the same previous highs
21:39Watch for a pullback
21:41If NASDAQ begins to pull back, we'll see what happens
21:43It doesn't have to influence crypto, but we all know that if Bitcoin begins to fall, then so can MicroStrategy (MSTR)
21:49I just added an additional 100 shares to my short
21:51Let's see if we get that price action that follows
21:53If it does, then I can add a little bit more to that short
21:56Um, all right
21:59Well, my position is so small on this that it really doesn't matter
22:01Let me focus on you guys for a little bit, and we can break down some stocks
22:05Does that sound good? Right
22:07For the meantime, we have 20 minutes until the FOMC press conference
22:10You guys want me to go live? Let's see how many likes we're at
22:11Did we hit 1,000? Only 680 likes
22:14You guys
22:17You're killing me
22:19You guys are stingy with those likes
22:22Stingy, sting, you guys aren't subscribing
22:25You're not liking
22:28Here we go
22:31>> [snorts] >> So that's how dumb you are, predicting no rate hike, and that the rate hike means that no one—what, buddy? I'm always here to play it safe
22:46I obviously wasn't certain about anything
22:51I didn't take a trade before
22:55Can you see the CKD K4? Should we ban him? Never, never allowed to comment again
23:00Should we give him the banhammer? Imagine being so—oh man, how much do you think you have to be down to start acting like a Karen, blaming other people, right? Because I'm up right now, $2,500 here
23:12What else? INTC, we're up $4,800 there
23:19I don't think I—yeah, Dell Technologies, $2,600 there
23:21Feel like we're having a very good day for me
23:25Ban him
23:28Ban him
23:30All right
23:32Send him to the shadow realm
23:34I like that
23:36Let's do it
23:38I can't even find the person anymore
23:40You guys commented too quickly
23:44[snorts] Drop the hammer
23:50Where is this little idiot, man? I literally can't find him
23:55You guys commented way too fast
24:01[groaning and snorts] All right
24:06No, I got him here
24:10All good
24:15If he's having a bad day, hopefully it gets better for him
24:20Right
24:26Are the only people I ever wish a bad day for the MSTR bag holders? That's all
24:29That's all
24:32If you don't like me, if you don't like my videos, I get that
24:36I'm not for everyone, right? I feel like I try to be pretty neutral
24:38I have my opinions
24:39I have my biases
24:41But..
24:44Could I say? I'm an individual
24:46I can try to think for myself, but I know it's not going to make sense to everybody
24:49But I always, anytime I film videos, I feel like I always talk about both sides
24:53If you're part of my LPP team, you get to see all of my good and bad trades
24:57I don't know what else I can do other than, you know, if I really wanted to be a "pick me," maybe I would bend the knee more and just try to do what everyone else wants me to do
25:07But again, I'm just human
25:09I'm an individual
25:11I'm not perfect, and I never pretend to be
25:13So, yeah, I'm happy to be here
25:18I'm very grateful that every time I look at that number, it's thousands of people
25:23We're all individually in front of a screen, watching and reacting to the market
25:31A report, and I think it's really cool that you guys are taking the time to watch it with me
25:35I'm very grateful for that
25:38So, here it goes: buying to cover
25:40I'm just going to trim my position again
25:42I'm up a very small dollar amount
25:44I just sold 100 shares out of the 300 shares I held
25:47The position size was really small
25:48Obviously, I could have taken a more aggressive trade, but I want to be cautious ahead of the FOMC rate decision and FOMC press conference
25:57There will be a lot of volatility
25:59I am not certain about anything, just as much as it's selling off, I think it could recover
26:03I want to respect that
26:08Position size management is about controlling the volume of noise you feel when the trade is moving in your favor or against you
26:13Do you know what I mean? Talking about? That analogy of like, do you ever feel that it's so loud when a trade is against you? That's probably because your position size is way too big, right? When you don't really feel the pressure, it's probably because the position size is relatively small to you
26:30You're more professional, probably enjoying it
26:31It's less stressful
26:33That's how I feel now
26:35I feel like I made my money for the day
26:37If any opportunity presents itself, I'm here for it, but I don't want to rush into it
26:41So, all right
26:43SPCX creeping down
26:46Everything, technically, should be pulling back as NASDAQ pulls back
26:47But again, NASDAQ has not done anything new
26:50If you actually pay attention to the common support range that we tested—the lows and the highs— We're all still within range
26:57Set those alerts and pay attention to it, right? Bullish, bearish
27:01As of right now, these are our support and resistance levels
27:04We're kind of in that middle ground
27:06Just as much as you can make here if you buy the dip, you can lose if it continues to sell off, and vice versa if you short
27:09I'm not certain about anything
27:12If you want to take the risk, that's on you
27:15But as of right now, we're waiting to see
27:18We have 15 minutes left until that press conference
27:20So, there it goes
27:22We have 1,181 likes
27:24Appreciate you guys
27:26[Snorts] All right
27:30Even oil is..
27:33let's go ahead and look at our oil watch list
27:36Oil is red, and it didn't push up higher
27:44Okay, good call
27:45How's gold doing? What's that gold ETF? GLD down
27:55What the hell? Okay, see if we recover here
28:02All right
28:09What else? What else do you guys want me to look at? If you want me to use the InvestingPro software, what would you like me to look at right now? What is on your watch list? I'm going to just be sharing my thoughts
28:14Remember, they're just my opinions
28:18You don't have to get offended, and at the end of the day, you should be taking trades and investments based on your opinions, not mine
28:22Um, all right
28:25Here we go
28:28Holy smoke, man
28:30I cannot see that live chat
28:31It looks like the Matrix
28:34I'm going to have to stop it
28:37I can't see it
28:39[snorts] Coreweave
28:40Wait, I actually want to answer this one
28:42We talked about it
28:44What do you think I'm going to say about Coreweave? What..
28:46Do you think I'm going to say about it? All right, pause
28:51We'll break down a few stocks
28:53We'll break down a few stocks
28:55Right
28:57I've talked about CoreWave before
28:58CoreWave, when we look at it fundamentally again, jumping into InvestingPro, has fair value, 19% upside, has a negative P/E ratio, they lose billions of dollars a year
29:07Obviously, in my opinion, I think it's incredibly speculative
29:11What do you think I'm going to say about it? Crap, crap, crap, right? All that stuff—you guys have seen me short it before
29:17But no, if you're part of my LPP team, I've talked about this one before
29:21You guys know that I'm all for shorting piece-of-shit companies
29:26I'm all for it, but I think patterns are important, and so are risk-to-reward ratios
29:32What? Is this something that we've noticed? It's not that core can't go lower, but it's that core, when it does sell off—just like when it pumps—it sells off, but when it sells off, it tries to recover
29:36It always tries to recover
29:41It is a very relevant stock right now
29:46Again, I'm not saying that it can't sell off more; all I'm saying is that it has sold off enough based on previous and recent lows that it is approaching an oversold support range
29:58So again, if we use this little tool here on the Webull platform, we can see the potential upside of approximately 3 to 1 risk-to-reward ratio
30:10Again, I think it's fair if you were to plug this in using the risk-to-reward ratio, right? We have the little calculator here that you can always use for the analysis
30:14Little risk to risk-to-reward ratio calculator
30:17Type in CoreWeave
30:21What would be the desired entry? Right, desired entry 86
30:23Exit 104
30:34[sighs] [snorts] Let me double check that
30:35Stop
30:39It'd have to be probably a little bit below
30:40Just a calculator
30:42Load it into the calculator
30:442.25 to 1 ratio
30:45You can do the math with 100 shares
30:47That's about $8,600
30:49You can potentially make, you know, $1,800
30:52It has the best-case and worst-case scenarios
30:55So, before you even take the trade, it has it all loaded up for you depending on your position size
30:58If you tend to go in a little bit heavier, then again, you can visually see before you take the trade what your exposure to risk is and what your exposure to potential profit
31:07The thing that I I want to remind you that just because something might fundamentally be a maybe bad stock, or it's not there fundamentally, remember if it has a good story and good price momentum, it can still perform well
31:21What do we want to call Coreweave? Well, so far, right, I think it's oversold enough
31:32I don't think it's worth the risk to short now
31:35Again, if it breaks the support at 79 and begins to sell off to other lows, that’s a different story
31:40That's now entering another area, right? Another range from what is that, lows of 60 to highs of 79
31:43That could be a different scenario
31:46I just think it's oversold enough
31:50I believe shorting presents a greater risk
31:54I would be more selective, openly just shorting something because
31:56Okay, that's my two cents on that
31:58Let's..
31:59Go ahead and move on to the next one
32:00I love that
32:02Uh, what's your name? Let's see
32:03Sam, you're asking me to break down Hood
32:07Uh, let me pull it up here
32:12H-O-O-D
32:16Again, we have 11 minutes until the FOMC rate decision, uh, and the press conference
32:18So, don't think we're not talking about it
32:19We are
32:20The rate decision is out
32:22They did raise interest rates by 25 basis points
32:23We're just waiting for the press conference, which is where Kevin Walsh will go live for about 30 to 45 minutes
32:25Uh, here we go
32:28What do you guys think about Hood? Share your thoughts
32:30What's your guys' take? Are you investing in Hood? Are you trading Hood? Is Hood a good dip buy for you? What's your take? Bullish, bearish? What is your take here? [snorts] I want to get your guys' opinions
32:49Well, you could see that it's beginning to drop as the rate decision gets announced, right? Especially with crypto
32:55Crypto does not thrive when rates are higher
32:57Uh, speculative assets obviously wouldn't
33:00So, therefore, hood partaking in crypto and coin, um, disposable income becomes less available, right? Um, hood is good
33:08All right, let's go ahead and type it in
33:12So, that is someone's opinion in the live chat
33:1734% downside based on a fair value of $68 per share
33:21Currently trading at $104
33:23If you look at it, it's trading at a high P/E ratio of 45 times its earnings
33:29It's a company that does see growth in revenue, but net income has again just hasn't progressed
33:34If we click on the pro
33:37Research, this is one of my favorite parts
33:39I'm much more of a visual learner
33:40Revenue is great, but if you actually look far back enough, you can see that during the post-pandemic rally, once markets began to downturn, so did Robinhood's revenue
33:49And I believe that we are in the early stages of this potential downtick
33:54When Robinhood saw that downturn, we also saw Robinhood—again, if we zoom out enough—we also saw Robinhood take a significant hit
34:03Different time frames give you different perspectives
34:06Just my two cents
34:09So, not just technically speaking, do I think it's overbought and set for a pullback? That's my take
34:11That's my opinion
34:13We don't have full confirmation of this; it's still kind of..
34:16An ascending uptrend pattern, right? Still kind of has an ascending support
34:19That is one thing I do want to acknowledge
34:21But if Bitcoin and markets begin to drop, I believe that Robinhood could be one of the biggest losers because again, during speculative times, it's the companies that are most overvalued that correct the hardest
34:34So there's an 18 to about 30% pullback potential based on current levels and previous lows
34:40Now, again, if markets rally, then yes, Robinhood has every reason to find its support and go back to retest the same previous high
34:49So we have to acknowledge that as well, right? From current lows to previous highs, 18 to 19% downside
34:55So I think a lot of this has to do with your take—are you bullish or bearish? In the market right now? Do you think that markets will continue to make new highs with the Federal Reserve just raising interest rates, oil prices going up, tensions in the Middle East, the housing market slowing down, and the labor market slowing down? You can still have that opinion, right? Because you're like, "No, we're in Trump's economy
35:17Markets are irrational
35:19They're going to keep going up higher." I see where you're coming from
35:22That's all they've done this year
35:24So, I can understand that sentiment
35:25For me, I don't think it's worth the risk, at least not with Robinhood
35:29I think Robinhood is more speculative
35:31If I buy the dip as markets pull back a little bit on any good company, it's not going to be Robinhood for me
35:34But..
35:36Again, that's my take, my opinion
35:39It doesn't have to be yours, right? All right, here we go
35:49Let's go ahead and do—can we do one more breakdown? One more breakdown
35:56What is it going to be? Let me know in the live chat
36:10All right, it's picking up
36:15I want to do one we've never done before
36:17I don't think that one looks familiar to me
36:19Nano nuclear energy
36:26I know I'm not going to like this one
36:28I'm just not that type of investor, right? But let's look into it
36:35NE looks like it's experienced a recent downturn
36:3720% upside based on fair value
36:40It does have a negative P/E ratio, which means that it loses money
36:43So, it could just be in its early stages, right? A lot of—okay, very early stages
36:52Let's see what the professional research says
36:57[snorts] All right, I don't want to focus on the bull case
37:01I want to focus on the concerns
37:05I should sell based on technical analysis, sell signal
37:06I don't care about that
37:08It remains a pre-revenue company
37:09Its core reactor business, the first power, is not expected until 2030, and EPS forecasts have worsened
37:16Um, if I don't expect anything, its first actual reactor by 2030, um, it's just too far out for me
37:26I don't understand how, if it's that far out, how did this company run up to highs of $60 per share? And at that point, from—yeah, I mean, it was over a billion dollars in valuation
37:37It just looked like a momentum play at that point
37:39It had a really good story
37:40It was a very niche-based business that, you know, I remember Okalo and all those
37:45Like fusion energy and nuclear energy companies were doing very well
37:50Uh, to my understanding, are they still doing well? Maybe
37:55Yeah
37:57No, they've faded
37:59I've called out OLO for what I believed it was
38:00I have numerous videos when it was pumping up to highs of 100
38:04Remember, I have no problem calling out what I view to be companies
38:09It's just my opinion, but it's for moments like this
38:14People say that fundamentals don't matter
38:16I say that fundamentals matter eventually
38:18You're right
38:20When you have a good story and good price momentum, it can do very well
38:23But as soon as there's a shift in the market and attention goes elsewhere, where did the attention fully shift? Memory chip stocks, just infrastructure
38:32Stocks, right? Um, more on the memory chip side
38:36Speculative money really began to get pulled out of this, and then bag holders end up holding the bag from $193 all the way down to $35
38:44Um, but I can see your take of investing into the future
38:48You know, I can get it for a discount
38:50You think that there's going to be another leg up? I'm going to be straight up with you
38:53I don't know enough about this company to try to make that decision
38:55Uh, all I know is that based on what I see right now and what I've learned just from quickly being able to see, uh, N&N, and that it won't be operational until 2030
39:09Um, very quickly I could see that, and thanks to the research, I would say that it's more of a sell to me than a buy
39:17Uh, would I care? To short it? Of course not
39:20Would I care to buy it? Heck no
39:22And again, I think that is the very useful part of using InvestingPro
39:27So, like I said, you guys don't have to, but right now, they do have a flash sale going on
39:31It's the first link in the description of this live stream
39:36And if you want it, it literally breaks down to less than $9 a month
39:38So, again, you could also get the Pro Plus, which is the one that I have, and that's about $23 a month
39:44And all you need to ask yourself is, is it worth having this to make more informed trade and investment decisions? You can always try it out
39:51If it's not for you, you could always cancel it
39:54With that being said, it's from Investing.com
39:56It's called InvestingPro
39:57First link down below, feel free to check it out
40:01Feel free to check it out
40:04All right, let's go ahead and prepare for the rate decision and the press conference
40:08Are we ready? We ready? All right, [snorts], let's go ahead and pull it up
40:17Are we all ready for Kevin Wash? Let's see where the NASDAQ market is right now
40:22The NASDAQ market is now testing the lows since the rate decision
40:27I love that
40:29Just a lot of consolidation here
40:31It looks like MicroStrategy (MSTR) is also testing its lows
40:33It's more on the oversold side, but sentiment could be shifting into fear
40:41Give me one second
40:50[snorts] All right, we have it pulled up here
40:58One minute left
41:00Once he begins to speak, I will try not to speak while he speaks
41:07There are times when he makes specific comments on how he answers reporters' questions
41:12I will give my two cents
41:16Hopefully, again, I'm just letting you know, so you're not surprised by it, but I rarely speak too, too much
41:21The big focus right now when he speaks is: are they probably open to more rate hikes, or was this a one-and-done? That's really what I want to pay attention to
41:33If he came to the conclusion of raising interest rates or if it was the rest of the committee
41:38That's the part that a lot of people forget
41:40It's not just Kevin Walsh that decides what happens
41:42It's a committee
41:44I think it's like 12 or 14 people
41:46They vote on it, and they always rotate
41:49So it's a decision they come up with collectively
41:51I just want to make sure you guys understand that
41:54I'll shut up now
41:57We have 30 seconds
42:00Seconds left
42:04You guys ready? Yep
42:06We're all good
42:09Is this a bear trap? Markets are consolidating
42:12They're testing a support
42:13I wouldn't call that more of a trap
42:14I would say that you're just at least paying attention, you know, you're self-aware of, hey, there's consolidation
42:19Maybe it's not the worst idea to take profits
42:20So, I wouldn't say markets are doing anything at all that is like, oh my gosh, I need to trade this or I need to go all in
42:30Like, you saw the trades that I'm taking are relatively pretty small because I believe that the moves so far have been relatively pretty small, right? We're still trading within range
42:37Markets have not made new highs on the day, but they also haven't made new lows
42:41Reason to overreact
42:44There's volatility
42:48Here we go
42:52I'll shut up
43:06All right
43:19[snorts] Here we go
43:33>> Good day
43:37>> Good day
43:42In the meeting just concluded, the FOMC decided to raise the target range for the federal funds rate by a quarter of a percentage point to 3¾% to 4%, in support of the Federal Reserve's dual mandate
43:47The committee is continuing its policy of maintaining ample reserves in the banking system
43:52As noted in the policy statement released just a short while ago, economic activity is expanding at a solid pace
44:03While uncertainty remains elevated owing in part to geopolitical developments, domestic spending has been resilient, productivity growth is strong, and capital investment is robust
44:11Job
44:20Gains have kept pace with the workforce, and the unemployment rate has changed little, but inflation remains elevated
44:28Today's policy action will support a timelier return to the committee's 2% goal
44:33This committee will deliver price stability
44:38Now, I'll get into some further detail
44:41Our decision comes at a time when the American economy appears to be strengthening
44:46>> NASDAQ, >> hiring, private sector earnings, business capital, investment
44:50Each of these indicators has improved in recent months and is pointing in a positive direction
44:59Credit flows have been robust, particularly for businesses
45:03And as I said at the policy symposium in Jackson Hole, I would be hard-pressed to describe broad financial conditions
45:08As restrictive
45:12This view was widely shared by the committee
45:15So, we removed a dose of accommodation
45:20Consider the geopolitical landscape of shocks and uncertainty, and you begin to appreciate the resilience of the US economy
45:30Given that resilience and the potential for even greater performance, an attitude of optimism is exactly what I heard inside the FOMC these last two days
45:42One basic sign of strength is the state of America's labor markets
45:45The jobless rate remains low at around 4.1%
45:52And both job openings and weekly hours have been increasing
45:58>> Unemployment claims on a 4-week moving average are running at levels consistent with full employment
46:03So, the labor side of the Fed's congressional
46:06The economy is in good shape
46:10Yet, for more than five years, inflation has been running above target
46:13So, our predominant focus is on the price stability side of our mandate
46:18The plain fact is that inflation is too high and has been for too long
46:28This summer's inflation readings do not tell me that underlying trends have meaningfully improved
46:33Based on the most recent CPI and PPI data, the 12-month change in total PCE prices was likely around 3.6 to 6% in August
46:43Core PCE and CPI prices are running at about 3.2% and 2.4%, respectively
46:53Too many categories are still posting increases above 3% on both a six- and 12-month basis
47:02I noted in Jackson Hole that overall commodity prices also warrant attention, and during this period the..
47:08Prices of many of these key inputs have risen
47:14Since my first FOMC meeting as chairman in June, my colleagues and I have been unequivocal in our commitment to price stability and to our 2% PCE inflation target
47:26At our July meeting, we all agreed that inflation remained too high and expressed our joint readiness to act as circumstances might require
47:35A good majority of my colleagues and I thought the wiser course then would be to await new information in the intermediate period
47:45Last month, in Wyoming, I expressed my commitment to monetary policy discipline, not to a specific decision
47:54I define the standard for action: we must be confident that underlying inflation is moving towards our objective clearly and at a steady pace
48:02Sufficient speed
48:07Today, the FOMC decided that this standard has not been satisfied
48:14The committee's unanimous vote shows our resolve to achieve price stability in a timely manner
48:20We aim to ensure that credit and financial conditions are consistent over time with our mandate, that relative price changes in some sectors of the economy do not broaden, that inflation compensation in market prices stays low, and that inflation expectations remain well anchored
48:42This afternoon, you also received the summary of economic projections
48:46It reflects the views of my colleagues on the committee
48:48But, as in June, I have not offered a projection of my own
48:53Like in June, I said I would faithfully discharge the responsibilities of the committee
48:55Their projections
49:00So, here goes
49:06In the summary's median projections, real GDP rises by 2.3% this year and 2.4% next year
49:10Total PCE inflation runs at 3.7% this year and falls to 2.3% next year
49:15The unemployment rate holds steady at about 4.1%
49:19The median participant judges that the appropriate federal funds rate will be 4.1% at the end of this year and remain there next year
49:27[snorts] Inflation risks are to the upside, while labor risks are roughly balanced
49:36In my meetings these last few weeks, in Jackson Hole, in Asheville, at the G20 meeting which the US hosted, >> I closed my MicroStrategy (MSTR) short, just letting you guys know >> It was evident that most advanced economies are facing price pressures
49:43Their central banks are making..
49:51Their own judgments, consistent with their own remits
49:58Our decision today reflects our best judgment in service to our remit
50:04The Fed has a role in sustaining the economic progress happening in America right now and the rising opportunities that come with it
50:14Those who are least well-off have the most to gain from a durable expansion, a solid labor market, and stable prices
50:24We at the Fed are unwavering in our vital and straightforward purpose: full employment and price stability, and a thriving American economy that sets the standard for the world
50:35And with that, I'll take a few of your questions
50:39>> Here we go
50:42>> Thank you
50:44>> Uh, Chair W, thank you for doing this
50:46Um, I'm Richard Escobido with CBS
50:48Um, let me
50:51Navigate over my questions
50:54Um, you know, a quarter-point rate hike does not reopen the Strait of Pig Moves
50:56Um, and so I wonder how you think these smaller rate hikes will be effective when it can't necessarily address the energy supply side of inflationary pressures
51:05Yeah, it's a good question
51:07Uh, Richard, we cannot affect any individual price, whether it be oil prices or foodstuffs at the grocery store
51:14But what we can do and will do is ensure that any change in relative prices doesn't broaden out, doesn't have second- and third-order effects on the economy
51:25That's what we're tasked to do, and that's what we will do
51:30>> Colby, >> thank you
51:33Colby Smith in the New York Times
51:35When the Fed starts Raising rates, it generally follows with a sequence of hikes
51:38Is there anything different in today's assessment of the economic conditions that would suggest that the typical pattern does not apply? And I guess second, what impact do you expect higher rates to have at this juncture if the bulk of what is keeping inflation elevated is stemming from supply shocks? >> So, we're trying to get to more people
51:58So, I get to cherrypick my preferred question from you, Colby
52:00Um, this won't surprise you
52:02I'm not in the forward guidance business
52:04The decision we made today was a sober decision, a serious decision, a responsible decision, one that we have been preparing for and thinking about in my 110 or 120 days here
52:14You heard from other people in the dots effectively what their forecasts are
52:20Uh, I'm not going to prejudge any future decisions we make
52:25Uh, you might have heard me say in Jackson Hole, I committed to a discipline, a set of principles
52:31I committed to look outside the window and see what I can observe
52:34Uh, that's what I did in Jackson
52:37That's what we did today
52:40>> Edward Lawrence
52:41>> Thank you, Mr
52:42Chairman
52:43Edward Lawrence from Fox Business
52:44Um, so the market priced in a 90% chance of a rate hike today
52:49You don't want the Fed to lead the markets
52:51Was this a market-led rate hike, and then with that, the bond yields are going up? That's one of the indicators
52:58Um, is debt part of that issue? So, um, I've said this before, I'll repeat it
53:04Uh, The Federal Reserve has an enormous amount of power
53:06These are decisions we make
53:09But getting the understanding right between financial markets and the Federal Reserve is a balance that I've long thought could be better struck
53:18We made this decision today based on our assessment of the situation, based on our assessment of the trajectory for employment, and based on our judgment of the strength of the economy
53:30Sometimes the markets try to prejudge our outcomes
53:34I'll observe market prices and see what they have to say
53:39But today was our decision
53:42>> Steve Thompson, The Washington Post
53:51>> Elizabeth, >> Thanks so much
53:55Elizabeth Schelsky with ABC News
53:57Big picture
53:58I wonder if you could tell us just what will this move today..
54:00Actually, what we do for American consumers and have to ask is, uh, what is your message here to President Trump, who has repeatedly called to cut interest rates, not raise them
54:10>> Um, I've got nothing for you on a discussion with the president
54:13So, but I won't count that as your question
54:17Um, on the American people, as I said in my prepared remarks, the least well-off are the ones who have the most to gain from stable prices
54:25The decision we made today was the right decision to fulfill the mandate that Congress gave us to ensure stable prices
54:33Moreover, I would say that because of the underlying strength of the economy, and because we are, as I mentioned, largely acting in line with full employment, we can focus on stable prices
54:46Some months ago, I said we will deliver stable prices
54:50Today's action is consistent with that
54:54>> Chris Rabber: Hi, how are you? Uh, thank you
54:58Um, can you tell us a little more about what changed from the July meeting when, as you noted, the Fed did stand pat until today? And, as part of that, could you give us a sense of whether or not things like the retail sales report today suggested that demand is heating up and possibly threatening higher prices as well? Thank you
55:20>> Yeah, so, as you might know, I'm not a data point dependent guy
55:22Um, so I won't react one way or another to data that shows up on our doorstep
55:30But on your first question, I think the more important one, what transpired in the July meeting..
55:34Weeks since we last met
55:37First, I would say a good majority of my colleagues seven weeks ago thought that seven weeks was a good investment
55:41It's a way to buy time so we could make a wise decision
55:45I'll highlight three things that have happened in that intervening period
55:48One is, I may have had a judgment seven weeks ago about the strength of the economy
55:53There's been a pretty wide-ranging set of data, including the labor markets, that the economy has strengthened
55:59You might have heard me say that in Jackson Hole a few weeks ago
56:03It's a judgment that I have and the Committee has
56:06Second, inflation trends
56:09I said in Jackson Hole, trends matter
56:12I said in Jackson Hole, we need to look outside the window and interrogate
56:15Reality
56:19Um, my judgment some weeks ago was that the inflation summer trends weren't passing the test
56:22I've seen very little information since that would make me reverse that decision, so I've stuck with it
56:29And the third thing that has changed in seven weeks is geopolitics
56:33And there's no hiding from hot spots around the world
56:35Our judgment about what is the most likely or least likely geopolitical situation has changed
56:43All three of those things led to a firm, unanimous decision today
56:51>> Clear Jones, Financial Times
56:55Um, you said today's decision removes a dose of accommodation
57:01In your view, and perhaps if you could share views around the table too, are interest rates now at a level..
57:09Do you would describe as restrictive or not? Thank you
57:14Uh, I've described previously that I found it difficult to describe financial conditions as restrictive
57:20I think I said I was hard-pressed
57:21What I heard around the table in the last couple of days is my colleagues were hard-pressed to describe it that way too
57:29Um, we removed a dose of accommodation so that financial and credit conditions would be more consistent with our ultimate objectives
57:39That was the decision
57:41That was our judgment, and uh, we'll continue to evaluate that prospectively
57:47>> Uh, Steve Leman, >> thank you, Mr
57:49Chairman
57:51Steve Leman, CNBC
57:52I want to follow up on that question
57:54Um, previously, most Fed officials had described the rate as modestly
57:59Restrictive, and if you remove accommodation, could you give us your sense of where the Fed funds rate is relative to neutral, and some detail if you wouldn't mind on your sense of whether there is a short-term neutral rate you're aiming for and a longer-term neutral rate? Do you think in terms of those? >> Uh, in a word, no
58:18Um, in a few words, I'd say this
58:21Um, I've always been interested in a neutral rate as an academic matter
58:27Back when I learned economics, we used to think of it as a Wicksellian rate
58:31It's a real equilibrium rate
58:34Um, it's useful academically
58:37It's a discussion to help us think about policy
58:40Do I think it has any operational effect on decisions that we make today? No, I don't
58:50>> Victoria, um, hi, Victoria Aguido
58:53With Politico, I wanted to ask, you've talked about how you don't like data dependence, including today
58:58Um, but heading into this meeting, there was a lot of focus on the August CPI, and I'm wondering if you think that was appropriate on the part of markets or if you have learned anything about how you might approach communications going forward
59:14Um, so market participants and reporters, I think generally over the last decade or so, have grown accustomed to waiting somewhat breathlessly on a data point
59:22Um, that isn't my view
59:30Um, I was not waiting breathlessly on what any particular data was, whether it was retail sales this morning or a CPI print last week
59:38Um, I'll just reiterate, trends matter
59:41Data points are noisy
59:45Data point dependence is a dangerous preoccupation
59:48It's not something that concerns me
59:51Markets over time will come to understand how this Fed makes its decisions, what's relevant and not
59:58And I wouldn't want to editorialize that for them beyond it
01:00:00 >> Zack
01:00:02>> Thanks for doing this, Mr
01:00:04Chairman
01:00:05Zach Kashack, the Washington Examiner
01:00:06I'm just curious
01:00:08A couple of weeks ago, the president sent out a message essentially threatening to cut off trade to certain countries unless rates were lowered
01:00:13Obviously, an unanimous decision to do the opposite
01:00:16What would you say to investors who sort of believe this is another test of the Fed's independence? And then, when was the..
01:00:23Last time you spoke with the president? Do you anticipate a post-decision meeting, or did you give me a long menu from which to choose? They're all very tempting
01:00:31Um, I don't have anything for you on discussions with the president
01:00:35Um, and I'm not a Wall Street newsletter
01:00:38Um, part of the independence of the Federal Reserve is we stay in our lane
01:00:44Independence is a two-way street
01:00:46We let people who do trade policy and fiscal policy stay in their lane, too
01:00:51That's how we can stand up here and call them the way we see them
01:00:55>> Just told Trump to stay in his lane
01:00:57I like that
01:00:59>> Hi there, Brian Chung with NBC News
01:01:01Uh, just wondering if you could explain who is the least well-off, and what does a rate hike do when those people might be pinched
01:01:06by higher mortgage rates, higher gas, higher grocery prices, and now broadly higher rates
01:01:12>> Yeah
01:01:16Um, it's a fair question
01:01:20In macroeconomics, we tend to look at aggregates around here: aggregate GDP, overall labor market trends, the state of inflation
01:01:25A lot of people in Washington spend a lot of time on distributional consequences, and that's their job and their business
01:01:30What I was referring to is that the least well-off tend to be people who don't own financial assets — call that a bit less than 50% of the country
01:01:40They don't have equity in their home
01:01:42They don't have equity in a 401(k) plan
01:01:44So, they're living off their paycheck that comes every couple of weeks
01:01:47The thing that we can do, consistent with our mandate, is..
01:01:52Two things: ask ourselves, is the country running more or less at full employment? And we've done that
01:01:58Um, that doesn't mean that individuals aren't searching for a job, but in aggregate, we're running more or less at full employment
01:02:05If so, we can then look at the other side of our mandate and let that be our focus: stable prices
01:02:09An environment where inflation is running consistent with our 2% objective offers good news because that way, when they get their wages, they can put their head above water and deliver real take-home pay increases
01:02:24We don't have total responsibility for it, but we do have responsibility for stable prices
01:02:29As I've said before, inflation's in a choice, and today we took a step in that direction
01:02:33Delivering it
01:02:35>> Yes
01:02:38>> Yes
01:02:41Sorry
01:02:45M from France AFP
01:02:48Are you looking at the other central banks, and what do you think about the European Central Bank's move? They hiked twice this year but not in a row
01:02:53Thank you
01:02:57Um, well, I don't ask them to prejudge decisions that we're going to make, so I won't prejudge decisions that they make
01:03:01But I will say this: I've spent some time with, uh, foreign central bank counterparts, not just in the last 20 years but over the course of the last several weeks, as I mentioned in Jackson Hole, at the G20 meeting we hosted in North Carolina, and at a central bank meeting in Basel
01:03:20What I heard around the table from most of the advanced economies is they're suffering from price pressures, too
01:03:27They're making their own choices consistent with their remit
01:03:30Um, it tells me a couple of things
01:03:32One is when the Federal Reserve makes a policy choice, it matters not just to the US economy, but it spills over to the rest of the world
01:03:42To a lesser extent, that's true for them, too
01:03:44When foreign central banks make decisions where they're confronted with higher prices and they choose to act consistent with their remit to, uh, raise rates, then they're helping to quash inflation in their countries, and there are spillovers and spillbacks in both directions
01:04:00Beyond that, I won't opine on what other central banks may choose to do this week or beyond
01:04:05>> Nick Timos
01:04:06>> Thank you, Nick Timos
01:04:11of The Wall Street Journal
01:04:14Chairman
01:04:17Worsh, last fall you expressed concern that the Fed was about to make its, quote, sixth or seventh big mistake by deciding the economy was too strong to justify lower rates
01:04:20Now today you raised rates
01:04:23Can you give some sense as to what changed your own assessment of the US economy between then and now? >> So I don't, I don't remember the full context, but I can tell you, uh, Nick, about the state of growth now
01:04:37My suspicion, 110 or 120 days ago when I showed up, was that the US [clears throat] economy was strengthening, even over the last several weeks
01:04:47I think we now have data broadly defined that says the economy has indeed strengthened
01:04:52Um, underlying growth is higher
01:04:54Uh, inflation is the problem
01:04:58Stable prices have been the problem
01:05:02For now, more than five and a half years
01:05:04So, what the committee decided to do today was take an action to ensure a timelier return to our price stability objective
01:05:11Price stability is foundational to economic growth, and I think we took an important step today to deliver it, and we did it in part by removing the dose of accommodation that I mentioned before
01:05:24>> Neil Irwin, >> My short is fully closed
01:05:30My one share left open
01:05:33Longer-term bond yields have been up quite a bit over the last few months, especially in the last few weeks
01:05:36What do you believe the bond market is telling you, especially about the growth outlook, the neutral rate, and what are the implications for monetary policy? >> Yeah
01:05:40Um, let me speak to the
01:05:43History, what bond market prices do prospectively
01:05:47I want to let them do their, I want to let them, uh, tell me any story they wish to
01:05:54I want to try to interrogate that
01:05:56But why did yields rise, let's say, since the last FOMC meeting until now? I'll give you three reasons
01:06:04But I would say these things tend to be overdetermined
01:06:06This is a complicated set of factors that are affecting the market
01:06:08 >> Be careful
01:06:11The NASDAQ market is retesting previous lows, and again it couldn't make new highs
01:06:13So if it does break the support, there could be another leg down
01:06:17Just letting you guys know, not to freak out
01:06:19Markets are still green, but they're beginning to show more signs of bearish sentiment
01:06:22Remember, 700 is a major support for QQQ
01:06:24If it breaks
01:06:27That support, again, zoom out
01:06:29Different time frames give you different perspectives
01:06:31We have a bigger gap down
01:06:32This is a very strong support range
01:06:34So again, also if you're shorting, be very careful as we approach the support range, as it's a more common support area where it can begin to recover
01:06:39Remember, markets are irrational
01:06:41They're always looking to recover, and markets are more bullish than they are bearish
01:06:47I'm all for shorting; you guys can see that firsthand
01:06:48I made $5,800 here with shorting
01:06:49Again, shorting carries a greater risk
01:06:54I would not hold a short position for too long
01:06:56Just my two cents
01:06:58Um, it's not simply spot prices of energy or spot prices for corn, soybeans, or wheat, but it's the difference
01:07:07Between those spot prices and so-called crack spreads, what that means for products that find their way into stores across the country
01:07:17So, I think those are the three leading explanations, but certainly not an exclusive list
01:07:21Michael McGee
01:07:22>> Michael McGee from Bloomberg Radio and Television
01:07:26You said in Jackson Hole that you want to see inflation come down clearly and at a sufficient speed, which is a standard without necessarily a measurable threshold
01:07:37And the reason I ask is because today, you say, today's policy action will support a timelier return to the Committee's 2% target
01:07:46And yet, in the summary of economic projections, the median pushes the 2% target achievement out to 2029, another two
01:07:50Years
01:07:54And I'm wondering how you can square those two things
01:07:58>> Um, one easy way to square that, Mike, is those aren't my forecasts
01:08:02Um, those are the forecasts of my 18 colleagues, and I tried to represent them dutifully to you
01:08:08Um, my job is not to give forward guidance, but my commitment in June was to reaffirm to the American people, to anyone listening, that we will deliver price stability
01:08:22My commitment in July was to say we want to buy a little bit of time
01:08:26We want to evaluate what's happening across a range of dimensions
01:08:31And what I said in Jackson Hole in August is we're committed to discipline, not to a decision
01:08:37Today's action starts to show we're serious about this, and we will deliver on the price
01:08:43Stability objective, and as the statement said, we'll do it on a timelier basis
01:08:48That's our decision, and when we continue our discussions over the course of the next several weeks and months, we'll have more to say about it
01:09:00But, if markets go red, a little bit more fear can start to get factored in
01:09:05Just a heads-up
01:09:08Thanks, Chairman Walsh
01:09:11Manny with CNN
01:09:14You've spoken in the past about the positives that could come from widespread adoption of artificial intelligence
01:09:18[clears throat] How concerned are you, if at all, about these increasingly alarming warnings we've heard from AI leaders about losing control of this powerful technology and doing real-world damage that would presumably..
01:09:30Impact the real economy
01:09:32>> So, I've spent a lot of time, uh, thinking about AI, and before I found my way to this post, I spent a lot of time talking about it publicly
01:09:40Um, independence of the Federal Reserve is about staying in our lane
01:09:45We care very much about what's happening in artificial intelligence
01:09:51We care a lot about the implications on the demand side of the economy and ultimately on the supply side of the economy
01:09:57I care so much
01:09:58I think it's so important that we establish a task force that should report by the end of the year, to think about the implications for policy and market conditions
01:10:05>> Markets went red
01:10:09>> Let's see if they overreact >> decisions that are made about the risks and rewards, the challenges and opportunities
01:10:12Opportunities
01:10:15Those are decisions made by other parts of the government
01:10:18I'm going to leave it to them to make those political decisions, those policy decisions
01:10:21The implications of those decisions obviously have some bearing on our day-to-day work, and that's where we'll be focused
01:10:26>> Okay, for the last question, we'll go to Jennifer Shawnberger back
01:10:30>> All right, last question
01:10:33>> Thank you, Mr
01:10:37Chairman
01:10:42Jennifer Shawnberger with Yahoo Finance
01:10:46Inflation has risen mostly from higher energy prices and tariffs, which some say are supply shocks that rate hikes cannot fix and should remain in place on their own, as long as inflation expectations stay anchored
01:10:51And now that you have increased rates, do you need to push growth? Below potential unintentionally pushing weakness in the job market to bring inflation down? And how do those dynamics play out given the forcefulness with which AI is driving the economy right now? >> So there's, there's, there's a lot there, Jennifer
01:11:10Let me see if I can't do just a little bit of it
01:11:13Um, first, we believe that the unemployment rate is basically running consistent with full employment
01:11:20Uh, I don't believe that we need to do harm to the labor markets to achieve our objective
01:11:25I don't believe that the two parts of our mandate — price stability and full employment — are working at cross purposes over the medium term
01:11:34So, economic growth that is ensuring continuous, sustainable, durable economic growth
01:11:41That's the business we're in, and the job we did today, the job we'll continue to do, is to ensure price stability, which can mean that sustainable, durable economic growth can go on for longer
01:11:57The economy can be stronger, and, as I mentioned before, the least well-off can get the benefits of it
01:12:02>> Thank you
01:12:04Thank you
01:12:05>> All righty, guys
01:12:07Again, I told you, for those who stayed until the very end of the stream, I was going to have a nice little announcement for you
01:12:12We are going to start doing a $1,000 cash giveaway to your Webull trading account
01:12:20And again, this is something you guys know—I work with Webull
01:12:26I've worked with them in the past before
01:12:27They were trying to incentivize me
01:12:29In creating new videos and stuff like that, I told them I think it would be really cool to incentivize the users, not just myself, in making the videos, but for those who actively use Weeble to incentivize you guys
01:12:42You don't have to, and the details are not fully laid out yet
01:12:48I'm going to start this next week
01:12:50All I'm telling you is that the only people who will be able to receive this $1,000 a week prize—there will be a random selection—is the people who join Weeble
01:12:57Again, it's the fourth link in the description of this video
01:13:07So, as long as you sign up and you're using Weeble, you'll be eligible to join this group
01:13:13And on a weekly basis, I want the The winner will be someone who is implementing healthy habits
01:13:18So, one week we're going to focus on who has the best risk management for that week
01:13:24It's going to be a completely different group chat, and we're going to recap and collectively vote either as a team or I'm just going to randomly select live
01:13:32I want to be open to however you guys want to decide
01:13:36It's either you vote for someone else who should win or we choose randomly
01:13:41With that being said, on a weekly basis, there will be different incentives or focuses for best practices
01:13:48Another week it could be who has the largest percentage gain for the week, and whoever has it wins $1,000
01:13:55Another week, we can come up with different ideas
01:14:03Focuses for each week, but the big thing is it's going to start next week
01:14:09We're most likely going to start with the percentage gain for the week just to keep it simple, and then based on feedback, we can adapt
01:14:15Okay, a lot of you guys already use Webull, so you're going to be able to be a part of it
01:14:22I thought it would be a great way
01:14:24You know I mean, I share my affiliate link with you guys all the time
01:14:27I've always been very straight up with you guys that it is an affiliate link
01:14:31Give me one quick second
01:14:33I need to close out this little long U
01:14:34But again, for those who don't have it, it needs to be, what's it called? a qualified Webull account, meaning that when you sign up, you can earn 12 free shares just for signing up
01:14:50Having an initial deposit of a hundred bucks
01:14:52So again, you don't have to do this
01:14:55I'm not trying to convince you if you really don't want to
01:14:57I use Webull all the time
01:14:58It's the platform that you see here, the one you're seeing me actively trade on, with all the different tools
01:15:04LPP, if you're a part of it
01:15:06Shoot, even—I'm open to the idea of possibly gifting LPP
01:15:10I know Webull is open to any of it
01:15:12Uh, if you're already part of LPP and you paid for it, I will refund you what you paid
01:15:19Again, I want it to be fun and I want to incentivize you
01:15:22Of course, there has to be a win for Webull, right? They're sponsoring it
01:15:26Uh, their win is that you sign up and start using their platform
01:15:31I'm being straight up with you guys because, again, if they See that it's going well for them, then we'll keep these giveaways going
01:15:36Obviously, if they see that, you know, not enough sign-ups happen, then that's just part of advertising, right? Again, I'm trying to be as open as I can with you guys about this
01:15:47What else can I talk about? What if you already have an account? I'm going to talk to them about that, because if they already have an account, then I wonder if maybe—[snorts]—you just having an account, that's something that, as long as it's a qualified deposit, I think that's all they really care about
01:16:03We'll figure something out, right? So, there will be a $1,000 giveaway just to start off
01:16:07If you're already part of LPP, we can even do one of those, maybe a..
01:16:10Week
01:16:12Um, and gift access to LPP
01:16:15So if you're already part of LPP, then you'll just get refunded on what you paid
01:16:19But I want it to be fun
01:16:22But the biggest thing is I want to encourage you to do the right things, not overtrade
01:16:23Be incredibly selective
01:16:25Every trade you take, focus on proper risk-to-reward ratios, and then be able to prove that again, like maybe even recapping your trades
01:16:37Who is the best at reviewing their good and bad trades daily? Like I want it
01:16:42It's going to seem very odd because you're going to be like, "Well, why the heck do I care?" You're right
01:16:48I shouldn't care more than you
01:16:51You should be doing this on your own already
01:16:52Hopefully, this monetary incentive of even getting $1,000 or a gift, um, will motivate you
01:16:59Know, access to LPP or refunds for LPP can be enough to motivate you even more
01:17:04It's not going to change your life
01:17:06It's $1,000
01:17:07I get that, but it's an incentive
01:17:08So, for those who want to be a part of it, again, you have to use Weeble
01:17:11I will provide more details on Instagram and also on YouTube, so just make sure you subscribe and follow me on Instagram for more updates
01:17:19The link to sign up that you need to use is in the description because it tags you when you use my link, and that is the whole point of this incentive
01:17:25The fourth link is in the description of this live stream
01:17:32If you need the link because you can't find it, send me a message either on Instagram or Discord
01:17:34You'll earn 12 free shares when you make a deposit
01:17:36Of $100
01:17:38That's regardless of the point
01:17:40You'll already get that
01:17:42Uh, and then on top of that, next week is when we officially start the challenge, and I'll post everything there that you guys need to know
01:17:46Okay? Um, again, you don't have to be a part of it if you don't want to
01:17:53Just letting you guys know that this is, um, I wanted to try it out
01:17:57Weeble's open to it, and if it works, it works
01:18:00And if it doesn't, then we'll still have a few winners who win $1,000
01:18:03Okay? Um, I had a lot of fun trading with you guys today
01:18:06Uh, just so you guys could see from the highs to the lows, I shorted MicroStrategy (MSTR) a few times
01:18:11Aside from that initial short, uh, I still do have an open position right now
01:18:13I'm up $6,300 on it
01:18:15I bought the dip on it when it became a..
01:18:18A little bit on the oversold side
01:18:20Uh, and then I sold a portion of it as it ripped back up
01:18:24I was keeping my LPP team up to date as the FOMC press conference was going live, and letting them know about my buys and my sells
01:18:31That's what you saw me doing on my phone
01:18:33Again, I work with one team and one team only, and that is my LPP team
01:18:36That's going to be another incentive for this $1,000 giveaway
01:18:39Again, if you end up joining LPP and you win the free LPP lesson library, I will simply refund you for what you paid for it
01:18:47Okay, so the second link in the description down below, you guys can join LPP
01:18:51If you want to preview a recent live session before you actually join, please do it
01:18:56You can watch today's live session so you can see exactly
01:18:59What to expect every day
01:19:00Don't sign up before you watch a live session and see what it's like
01:19:03I want you to see
01:19:05If you like it, great
01:19:08If not, I respect it, right? I'm not here to make you make an investment that you're not going to value, right? But if you like it, then again, you get to join
01:19:16There's a $299 off deal at checkout
01:19:18It breaks down to $110 a day if you break it down on a yearly basis
01:19:22That's less than a coffee, and it's obviously lifetime access
01:19:26It's not a yearly subscription
01:19:28I'm just breaking it down per day
01:19:30So, yep, that's it
01:19:32Let's see
01:19:34All right
01:19:36All right
01:19:38It sounds like someone, yeah
01:19:40Jay doesn't like Webull, and that's fine
01:19:43Jay, you don't have to use it
01:19:45Why do you get so offended? Can..
01:19:47Yeah, I'm..
01:19:48It baffles me
01:19:50There you go
01:19:51Um, what's your name? Jay
01:19:52Jeff, you're gone
01:19:54Yeah, he's gone
01:19:55Don't worry, don't worry, Jay
01:19:57You won't be getting the $1,000
01:19:59You don't have to, right? You don't have to partake in it
01:20:01That’s the part I feel like people are so consumed about today
01:20:04They create problems in their mind that shouldn't even be problems to them
01:20:09So, I promote Weeble all the time
01:20:11I actively use Weeble
01:20:13I really enjoy the platform
01:20:15They offered me a sponsorship deal, and I wanted to make it more interesting and get you guys involved
01:20:22If that bothers you, don't watch my videos
01:20:24If you like it, then I'm happy to be in a position where we can both win, right? Weeble has to win, you guys can win, and then I can
01:20:28Win
01:20:32We all win, uh, to the best of my ability
01:20:36So later, Jay, uh, for those who want to be a part of it, all the links are in the description
01:20:42And don't forget, uh, one of the softwares we used today is Investing Pro
01:20:45This is serious
01:20:48So if you guys like this fundamental tool, it's a software with a monthly subscription
01:20:50It breaks down to, like I said, $9 a month, $8.95 if you bill it annually
01:20:58And this is what it breaks down to per month
01:20:59So if you want it, it's a flash sale, 55% off
01:21:01You have 20 hours left
01:21:04That's the first link in the description down below
01:21:06So, yeah, a few different links
01:21:08I'm happy to see that markets sold off due to a rate hike
01:21:11I'm actually very surprised that they did hike rates
01:21:14Uh, my biggest..
01:21:17Takeaways, uh, from what Kevin Walsh said, I will talk about that in today's later video
01:21:20So, I have a few notes I would like to review and then make a video for you guys, and uh, I'll catch you up to speed
01:21:29But, pretty much, uh, done trading for the day
01:21:31Very happy with it
01:21:33Like I said, MSTR, uh, $6,300 on the day
01:21:35Uh, the other trade that I took was on INTC
01:21:39That was $480
01:21:42And then the only other trade that we took today, where is it? Here we go
01:21:45$2,600, and that is Dell Technologies
01:21:48Obviously, now it's selling off a lot more
01:21:52There's more money that could have been made, but guess what? I'm not a perfect trader
01:21:55Not here to pretend to be
01:21:56We can't catch the full move
01:21:58Our job is to get in, get out, make our money, and bounce, and if the market
01:22:00Conditions are a little bit too volatile, let's not overstress ourselves
01:22:03So, all right
01:22:05I appreciate you guys' time
01:22:07I hope that we're into thumbs up
01:22:08Um, I had a lot of fun with you guys, and I'm so excited for all the new members
01:22:12I can see a few of you guys are joining LPP right now and taking advantage of that discount
01:22:17Um, please watch the first section of the LPP lesson library
01:22:20It will explain to you exactly how to access the Discord and how to access our daily live sessions
01:22:27But you need to sign in to that first section
01:22:30So once you sign up, sign in, watch the Get Connected section
01:22:32It's the first section
01:22:34Watch those videos
01:22:37And remember, you're not just joining for the live trading
01:22:40You also get lifetime access to the..
01:22:42Lesson library and all the updates
01:22:44So, if you have any questions, message me via Instagram or Discord
01:22:46If you're part of our LPP team, please do not fall for the fake accounts that pretend to be me
01:22:50I do not send you a friend request
01:22:53I will never message you first, and I will never ask to trade for you
01:22:57I don't deal with crypto, I don't trade options, and I don't trade futures
01:23:01LPP is the only service that I offer, and I will never message you first
01:23:08Please do not fall for those fake accounts
01:23:09If you get a friend request, report them because it's not me
01:23:14Okay, I appreciate your time
01:23:14Like always, let's make sure that we end the year on a green note.
